Are you serious? The time has never been a big act. They were already a
big act among r&b fans during the early 80's. The success of the purple
rain movie and ice cream castle albums cemented the group's pop success.
Jungle Love and the bird are still favorites on pop radio.

Are you kidding? Playoffs? You wanna talk about playoffs? lol

My friend... Let's get serious....

The Time has never been a BIG act... Not even among r&b fans... Not big enough to win grammys or whatever... It was just another funk group

Their appearance at the grammys has more to do with the fact that the band is affiliated to Prince...

Perhaps your memory bank is faling you. I remember these guys being very popular in the black community. Even P has said they were kicking his ass on stage. Rework your faulty memory bank my friend.

As nice as it would be for the Time to perform a song on their own, they need to use current artists to guest with them to make it "hip" apparently.
Word is that they're playing Jungle Love, and Jimmy and Terry have arranged it to have a break where it leads in and out of "Umbrella". I heard Chris Brown may be part of it, as well.

If this does go well, it does open the door to other reunion shows and/or possibly have the record they've had finished for severa years finally getting released. But that's all wishful thinking, especially with the personal schedules and unique personalities of this band.
If it breaks when it bends, you better not put it in.

That's what I'm saying. That along with Terry and Jimmy are the only reasons I think this is cool. Who stated that "Oak Tree" was confirmed as the song they will do? That doesn't make a lick of sense because that is not a Time cut. That's a solo Morris cut. And I hope they don't play The Bird/Jungle Love medley either. If they really want to turn it out, they'll play 777-9311 or Get It Up or even Wild & Loose. I'm just glad that I've seen the "real" Time two times in my life. Twice opening up for P. Once on the Controversy tour and once on the 1999 tour. They were bangin'. Waaaay better than these imposters that's been masquerading on stage with Morris as The Time. What a disgrace.

Absolutely!

OUCH! lol
Tori, Freeze and Chance H. have to eat, too bruh. Come on, now. Somebody had to sub in order for the rest of those cats to keep eating off the same songs for 25 years. For the record, I'm glad the "old cast" are getting back together for one last romp. Its a shame they'll have to do it with that five-head, screeching banshee in tow. She should be bannd from microphones in the U.S.

This is easily the shocker of the year. How much time will they be alotted on stage? Five minutes? And you figure half of that will be Rhianna doing one of her songs, right? That leaves 2.5 minutes for real Time stuff. confused Better than nothing I guess.

Bream picked up the story for the Minnie Strib:

http://www.startribune.co...57577.html

The Time to clock in at Grammys

The original members of The Time, the early 1980s Twin Cities R&B band known for such hits as "Cool," "Jungle Love" and "The Bird," will reunite to perform on the Grammy Awards on Feb. 10 in Los Angeles. The Time will be the backup group for Rihanna, who is nominated for record of the year ("Umbrella"), among other awards.

The band's original lineup hasn't worked together since 1990, when they recorded the album "Pandemonium" and appeared in Prince's film "Graffiti Bridge."

JON BREAM

He probably got the news from here. lol

This is great news but I am a little pissed off because the Grammys are only shown in the USA and I live in England so I won't see it! I'll have to rely on you guys to tell me all about it. It would be cool if they performed COOL, that is my fave Time song. Maybe they will release a greatest hits CD now, after the renewed interest. I hope so.

What did anyone expect? The Time had two memorable albums that were all due to Prince. They're just not a big deal.

Too bad Rihanna's going to ruin it(like Beyonce ruined Prince's set) - who the f-ck wants to hear that stupid Umbrella song? I hope Morris & Jerome re-enact the dumpster scene from Purple Rain. Get her no-talent ass off the stage.
