So, whats the real, I mean [REAL] reason behind Wendy/LISA and PRINCE break-up?? Cuz I 4 one don't feel the break-up becoz of the "Sus+Prince ending love affair thang"(Or like someppl say). No sir, I think there're deeper things why they broke up. Don't ask me 4 examples tho cuz I don't know, but I know that this ending love affair doesn't make sense at all. Yeah it may happen between a couple but I don't think it could be a reason to break-up a hole family just becoz of 2 "fighting lovers".

It's really not a conspiracy.
He fired them when he fired the rest of the band after the Parade tour was over. He didn't really give them the credit they deserved for what they did on Sign. As close as he was to them at one point, when he fires people he likes to pretend they don't exist, meaning no contact whatsoever. Years later, when Emancipation came out he made a half-hearted attempt to contact them which Wendy & Lisa are still waiting for a response. No big secret. http://www.facebook.com/p...111?ref=ts

They wanted to leave several times doing the short Parade tour. After the tour was over Prince just fired them. I will never understand what they are upset about. If you have a job and you bitch everyday about leaving sooner or later your boss will fire you.

Well?? I think it all happened when, (this is just my opinion) Wally Saford and Greg Brooks entered the picture. According to Matt Fink he pretty much ignored the whole band, "It was like just do your job, I'm gonna hang with my black buddies now. He totally segregated the band." I also think his break-up with Susanna had somthing to do with it, her and Wendy were the best of friends and it would have been a bit weird for her. I also think wanted to do somthing on his own without any help. But the Susanna thing had a big part in it, Prince was completly heart-broken, he was going to marry her. How do you think he would've felt having to be with her twin sister? He just couldn't handle it. And with Lisa it was probaly the Wally and Greg thing. Plus she's very close to Wendy. ~KiKi

Wendy: "Prince had a very tumultuos relationship with my sister, an he would take that to work with him. It was the beginning of the end."
Lisa : "It was hard we couldn't take sides..." Wendy :"Looking back on it it was an impossible situation. It was impssible for her(Susannah)as well. Their pain and love produced some amazing songs, no doubt about it, but he was nasty . Horrible." In august, 1986, During the Parade tour, Prince was photographed hand in hand with actress Troy Beyer, in New York. A few days later, he wrote and recorded Forever in My Life for Susannah. Acouple of days later,in London, he was photographed hand in hand with nude-model Jackie St. Claire (who two years later sold her story of her "sexy fling" with Prince to a British tabloid). Susannah (and John L. Nelson) flew in from Minneapolis, to join Prince in France. However, Prince eas also joined by swedish model, Fatima Bergström, whom he had met the night before in Stockholm. Perhaps this is an indication of ho´w Prince was treating Susannah, at this point in their relationship.

Maybe she was also very close to Susanna as well. Maybe she was insulted because Wall Saford and Greg Brooks were in the band, (they weren't even that talented) Matt Fink was mad because of that. Or maybe Lisa was just burnt out, she was with him for 6 years. Wendy could've also left because Miko was in the band. Okay, I think I figured it out: Bobbby Z. left because Prince wanted Sheila E. to be his drummer. Brown Mark left because all of the attention Prince gave Wendy he felt like he treated him like he didn't excist. Wendy left because of the way Prince treated Susanna and because Miko Weaver was in the band, Alan Leeds said she didn't want another guitarist in the band. Lisa left because of Greg Brooks and Wally Saford; she was insulted, she was also pobaly burnt out; she was with him for 6 years. She could've also been very close to Susanna too. And of course Matt stayed ~KiKi

Well?? I think Prince just had a desire to move in a different musical direction. All the music Wendy and Lisa were involved with sounded the same. Wendy and Lisa took the break up alot harder probably because they were close friends of Prince.

Lisa remembers the twins in diapers, they're all like brothers and sisters. So of course, she would have a hard time with him treating her "sister" like that. Anyone who has heard Lisa sing "Jonathan" on the Girl Bros album can vouch for the bond between the Melvoins and Coleman families.

I see the "I hate Prince because he released Wendy & Lisa" gang are present and dangerous to themselves only..
Let me asked you these questions: If they wanted to leave anyway, how did he harm them? I mean they took their influence away... No more control.. No more abuse.. So, where does your bitterness come from? Why are you here if he treated them so bad? Damn! Even Sussanah moved on! I think you folks [secretly] want to do a "Quantum Leap"(time travel/body possession) and be Sussanah, Wendy, Lisa, and Prince back then... I think this "rehashing" is another attempt to re-live something [you' love to be involved with] and embellish it. No matter what has happened...its done.. For you Liars: I know that you've seen the credits for the "Sign O' The Times" CD. You know that Wendy, and Lisa are credited. I've never read anything (from Wendy and Lisa) stating otherwise... Hurry! You can still catch your life if you wake-up! Hurry! [This message was edited Tue Oct 15 14:37:04 PDT 2002 by NGSPW7200]

The source was Alan Leeds. I just do not think he would make this up. In addtion, Bobby and Matt say that they did not like the addition of Brooks and Wally during the Parade tour. They actually say that Prince was hanging around to many blacks. I think that if W+L, Bobby and Matt were all saying these things to Prince he must have gotten really pissed. I am also sure that running around on Susan did't help. I saw a VHS documentary on Jimi Hendrix and there was an interview with Mitch Mitchell, the white guy who was the drummer in Hendrix's band. Mitchell said he and another white guy who were in Hendrix's band felt uncomfortable because Jimi started hanging around with a lot of blacks. He didn't actually say "blacks" during the interview, he said "colored guys." He said a lot of "colored guys" and musicians started hanging around Hendrix and it changed the direction of Hendrix's music.

Before I take any offense to this, I must remind myself to take gossip with a grain of salt. Just like the previous post about Prince hanging out with his black buddies...isn't that the most rediculous crap that you have ever heard (whether or not its true). If one of my non-black friends, let alone employees, were upset because I had befriended/employed other blacks they were defintely not my friends to begin with. Love is not prejudiced, Love is not jealous, Love is patient and unconditional. If any of it is true about Prince or Hendrix, they were much better off without that racial negativity around them!

My feeling is,The Revolution ended at just the right time. After '1999','Purple Rain','ATWIAD' and 'Parade',there was just no place else Prince could go with this line-up.He clearly wanted to move into hardcore funk and jazz, whereas The Revolution (with Wendy and Lisa) were more of a "pop" band.I also think that Prince wanted his music to become "blacker" at this point, which may explain why every other band after the Revolution consists of mostly Black musicians.I'm sure Prince loves W&L and appreciated their input, but it's obvious that he wanted to move in a different direction.
