I R-E-S-P-E-C-T Denice Matthews(NOT VANITY)

Even tho I'm muslim and my beliefs are waayyy different than her's we've something in common(Strong God believers).

I just watched her interview from her website and let me say that this sister really had something deep 2 say to anyone.

I really wish that she find peace of mind and it won't hurt if someone make a movie about her life.

I saw her video too and gained a new respect for her. I really do believe that she's turned her life around. It'll be interesting to read her book if it EVER comes out. She's had things done to her, and she's done things to other people. Sounds like she's made peace with her self and God, and I'm happy for anyone that can do that.

I don't have any newfound respect. I lost respect for her actually.

I'm glad she's found her way, but evangelists piss me off. I respect your beliefs, you respect mine and don't try to convert me, thank you.

She and Prince should get together and chat, now that they're equally devout -- I wonder if she still thinks they're like Dick and Liz?

Mad:

Are you referring to her video at her site? She didn't really come off as trying to convert anyone. To me, it seemed as though she was simply telling what it was that proved redemptive for her in her own life.

Yeah, from the interview. She was introduced as an evangelist, the label on her photo is "Evangelist." That's what evangelists do. Preach to convert. So no, she wasn't up in mah face, but converting is the aim. And the network she was on is all about getting yo $$$ to build their Golden temples. Yuck. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

So drugs don't have power over her now, but religion does. Addicts can't stop being addicts. That's why I lost respect. The voice she has now is of value because of where she came from, why curse it?

why not just have compassion for her? after all, religion is far less harmful then drugs...by feeling threatened by someone discussing religion with you, you are only pointing out your own insecurities...have faith in what you believe, listen and move on...

appreciate your own will power!!!

I do have compassion for her, and given the choice of drugs or religion, obviously being addicted to religion is better for her physical health. Disagreeing with a religious agenda doesn't make me insecure or show a lack of faith. My faith is private and doesn't need to be broadcast from the highest tower. It's the same reason I prefer the message of Lovesexy over that of Rainbow Children.

Its good to see her no more on drugs and she changed her life around over her religious beliefs. I seen her years ago on a MTV interview, and she talked about her life as Vanity unhappy with her life doing drugs. Its sad that now she have to be hook up to a health machine to keep living over the drugs that ruin her inside body.I respect anybody that completely stop harmful drugs, and change into a beautiful inspirational person.

Here she was such a Beautiful,Sexy woman and she was Unhappy and on Drugs to the point where she had a kidney removed. Nothing is Sexy about a Drug Addict. It's not a Sign of Health. I respect how she turned her life around and has found Religion, however did she have to almost Die in order to See the Light? That is the Real Question. Would she still be Vanity Otherwise?

I think that if she didn't have to deal with the drugs and getting to much exposed as the sexy female always getting nude she probably will still be known as Vanity. She also mention about in one of her movies she didn't want to get nude and the director didn't care about how she felt about getting nude in the movie. She got to the point where she got tired of being disrespected over her beauty and her body.

I respect her too. She has come a long way. I recently saw her clip from TBN. She talked about her new kidney failing. She also talked about how she had gained 40 pounds and how she lost the weight. She says she is now eating alot better. She wanted everyone to pray for her. Even though she is going through alot right now she is still very positive and looks very beautiful. She looks much younger than her age.
