JAM, LEWIS, BENTON + MS. JACKSON: GRAMMYS 87

There is no doubt that Ms. Jackson in her prime was THE performer. The clip below was mind-blowing to me when I first saw it in '87. She started a craze of wearing black. The performance was amazing.

Terry, Jimmy, Jellybean & Jerome tore the stage up with Ms. Jackson. (Makes me want to write Janet and tell her to stop the ridiculous songs now and get back to the music!).

Have the 'DREAM TEAM' lost their magic....you be the judge!

Jam & Lewis haven't lost it.....Janet has. She needs to grow up. She's 40. Her fans are either parents or some grandparents and she's tryin' to still be breathing heavy on songs 20+ yrs later. If she would embrace her age and status instead of trying to compete w/those 20+ yrs younger she would still be some whoat relevant. Now she is just comming off like those 40+ women that still go to the 21 and up club still trying to hold on,lookin all outta place.

I agree that Jan has lost it a bit, especially with all the overtly sexual lyrical content. Ever since then she has gone downhill musically, IMO. BUT, Jam and Lewis are still producing her.....Time for a change maybe??? (pun totally intended) smile

That totally rocked and it was more of a TIME reunion than the current version of The Time. This had Jimmy Jam, Terry L., Jerome and Jellybean. The current version has Morris, Jellybean (?) and Monte as members.

Janet was the bomb!

Does Jerome have the best job on the planet or what?

Right on, Janet needs to stop listening to Jermaine Dupri, and stop trying to compete with the Britney,Beyonce, and the Cristina of the world and go back to the music. She lowers herself by trying to sell sex. A few months back when she did vibe and king magazines, she in their books prancing around half naked, i said to myself boy she sure has fallen off. You would think that after the super bowl incident, she would keep her clothes on.That why i think Jermaine had a hand in the image that she's been putting out. Janet needs to stop taking off her clothes and go back to the music and the dancing that made her famous, not selling sex
why in God's name do u wanna make me cry

Rene.....you might be right there!!

I noticed that Janet's voice is so light & airy. Just not strong enough for today's market. You got Jennifer (Hudson...don't even try it Lopez worshippers!!) & Beyonce belting out stuff. But with Janet, her voice is barely heard. Girlfriend needs a BIG change.

I loved Escapade, Love Will Never Do, Alright, all those groovy catchy clean songs. Whats all this stuff about 'I'm hot, touch my spot'? Girl please.
