I hear they had some falling out but she seems to have fallen off the face of the planet. her album failed to materialize which i thinks a shame. Not only was she a pretty good singer but she was GORGEOUS. Anyone know what happened there?

I think her album never got released. sad ...

i'm sure all parties involved are contractually obligated to never tell what really happened.

Half the album was shelved...she then recorded more tunes to be added to it with other producers.

There was an article on Billboard's website yesterday on Tamar. She is looking to release more of an R & B style album. It quoted her as saying she needed to move out from under Prince's wing in order for her to fly or something to that effect.

good for her. i wish her well. funny that there is a line in Purple Rain about how Frances L. ruined his wife's career...

I think it's a shame the Tamar thing fell through. I think Prince was doing a good job of coaching her and pushing her on the public without making her seem like the latest purple bimbo from the paisley stable - and I think she was talented, smart, LIKEABLE, and had the stage presence to carry her own weight.

If it could have been seen through properly, I think it would have been a big success for both of them. As it is, I think Tamar has a lot to show from her work with Prince last year.

I do think it's tacky that Prince is already pushing a new singer.

oh I thought that chick was Tamar. She was only on there for a hot second. This whole Tamar thing is weird. The album gets shelved or partially shelved and then she disappears and then re-appears at the Grammy's as Prince's date. I'm confused.
