If you re-read the first post, you'll see that she's selling the perfumes to "rich" people to raise money for her foundation In A Perfect World (www.iapw.org) so that IAPW can donate money to non-profit organizations that support their mission. (More than half the proceeds will go to IAPW.) From the IAPW website: The Foundation provides financial and expert programmatic assistance to partner organizations. The first community-based organization partnership was formed with Free Arts Minnesota, an organization that provides free art classes to at-risk-populations of children. Furthermore, I think some of you have the mission of IAPW twisted--again from the website: The mission of this foundation is to help children around the country become compassionate, socially-conscious, and responsible leaders. I see nothing on there about helping hungry, hurting, lonely children. She's trying to changing the way people think which will hopefully, in turn lead to a better world. The IAPW website also shows pics of Mani and the other Board of Directors from IAPW at different activities. While she may not be downtown at the women's shelter in the middle of the night consoling crying children, at least she shows up at the events and "gets her hands dirty" which is more that can be said for a lot of 'celebrities.' Did Prince go down to New Orlean's after Hurrican Katrina and help clean up? No, he wrote a song instead and donated the proceeds. So why isn't anyone busting on his ass about not helping the crying children in the middle of the night? (Again playing devil's advocate.) I agree with wonder505--while Mani does not deserve the Nobel Prize for her work, at least she's doing something. (Same with Prince.) Which is more than can be said for a lot of people--celebrities or otherwise. [Edited 7/30/06 18:01pm] Ha Ha. Before we go into ALL of THAT! Let's ask her: Manu, how many $'s have U spent for Urslef vs poor, in-poverty kids? Let me guess....who's wearing the designer clothes and other luXuries? Manu do U eat the food from food shelves? Wearing designer clothes does not change the possibility that someone out there will benefit from her cause.

Prince's wife, Manuela Testolini Nelson is launching a new home fragrance line, 'Altru', which is based on her travels around the world. Altru is part of Gamillah - her company which is aligned with a variety of social causes. WWD reports that there will be 16 pieces in the Altru collection including soy-based candles, interior fragrance oils and incense sticks and holders. More than half of the proceeds will go to the In A Perfect World Foundation, a non-profit organization designed to inspire children to become world leaders. The Altru products are divided into six groups based on certain scents and named for qualities such as: Harmony (tanenashi persimmon), Integrity (Persian lilac and bamboo), Artistry (masala chai), Remembrance (grapefruit and Italian rosemary), Wellness (white clove and wild ginger) Appreciation (tiare and white freesia). Prices range from $15 to $65 and the products will be sold starting in October exclusively at Nordstrom and at Manhattan's ABC Carpet & Home. LINK Who CARES! I always suspected Mani as being...GRRRR! Prince should have never married her!
