For one thing... if you want to be mad at somebody be mad at either prince or yourself. Prince was the one who asked him to play the drums Kirk never asked to play the drums. - That´s the reason I avoid bashing Kirk more than I did in the past. It was Prince´s fault of hiring him and giving him too much input on production, while there are hundreds of better drummers only in the USA. Must have been a real pressure for him to be the one that replace Michael B and I believe he tried his best. 3. Being flashy, twirling sticks or having fast chops has nothing to do with music. It's all about the music stupid. 4. Prince has said it in an interview once, in modern drummer magazine with John blackwell. The only thing that he require his drummer to do is to keep time, play a groove and lock it in over and over until the pocket is there. That's it!!!!! Ne hever said that you had to be flashy, fast or possess that wow factor that amazes people. - I agree with that. But Kirky wasnt good even at this. Coincidence or not, Prince´s music got worse live in those years 97-2000, and Rhonda and Mike Scott were in the band back then. Why so much improvement on Musicology tour? There is a difference between great drummers and average drummers even when they play the basics of the basics. Michael B didnt do flashy things and twirling sticks over and over and he was great. 5. Kirk did a good job period. He did good for a drummer who hasn't played drums for years. Believe me... I know him personally that is what he told me. To tell you the truth when prince asked him to play the drums... kirk said no. Then I guess he couldn't pass up the opportunity. I mean who would say no to prince. Kirk said it himself if I understood him correctly... he isn't that serious about drummimng. He prefers to program and produce music. - I agree with you this time.

Did you see their new MySpace? www.myspace.com/thetruthmpls
I went on June 15 and it was amazing! All that talent on one stage. I've heard Jellybean play guitar and he is amazing. I'd take him on guitar or drums. I think their plan is to switch around; not only performers; but who plays which instrument. Paul played guitar and two keyboards. When Paul plays with his family (usually for their annual Christmas show at the Dakota) he plays bass, guitar, upright bass, keyboard and drums in any give show. These are multi-talented musicians. I enjoy the variety. Looking foward to heading back for the July 14 gig. My only request, start a little closer to 'on time' and play for more than 2 hours!! With all that material to work from, they could play for days! I was just getting warmed up on the dancefloor and it was over! Wahhhh!!!! If you can make it, you HAVE to come!!
