Mayte Garcia is known for a lot of things, performing and marrying Prince, and also dating Tommy Lee. But Mayte is her own person who can dance, sing and act.

Gene: How long have you been in Canada?

Mayte: About three weeks now. I’m doing this movie called “Firehouse Dogs.” It’s a movie for kids. It’s really cute. It’s going to be fun.

Gene: Personally, I miss seeing you dance. I know you are doing a lot of things, but are you going to be in the public again dancing?

Mayte: Definitely. Dancing is a part of who I am. I still go to class. There are some projects coming up. The next time it will be for Broadway or the bigger picture. My focus is on acting right now. Check out Mayte in these movies, “El Vacilon: The Movie,” “Dus” and “Glow Ropes.”

Gene: When you were eight, you were on “That’s Incredible.” Do you still remember that or just when you watch the tape?

Mayte: I remember filming it. My family had flown my sister and me to Puerto Rico for three months. What happened was I did a show and my father taped it. My father would sell the copies. These girls who I performed with sent the tape to “That’s Incredible” because they wanted to be on the show. The producers wanted me instead…

Gene: The stand out one.

Mayte: [Laughs] They called the girls and asked for my number. It was surreal to me. Something I’d always dreamed about. Every girl thinks about going to Hollywood. I was a big fan of the show. I was awestruck.

Gene: I didn’t actually see the episode when you were on “Nip/Tuck,” but I saw the clip…

Mayte: On the internet? [Laughs]

Gene: Yeah, online.

Mayte: There was more going on than that, but people point out…oh my God, her ass! [Laughs]

Gene: What made you decide to do that wild scene?

Mayte: Well, I went on the audition. My agent told me partial nudity. I remember thinking, oh partial nudity please, just shoulders. I thought it was network TV. You can’t get naked. If it were a movie, I totally would have said no. I totally was not thinking. I auditioned, got the job. The day of the shoot…I went into my dressing room, I saw two pasties and a G-string, cut out in the back. Why are they doing this? And I thought…this is weird. So I did it. I swallowed it…swallowed my pride.

Gene: I thought it wasn’t you completely. A lot of people think that it was a body double.

Mayte: Yeah, I’d like to say it was somebody else. It was my butt. [Laughs]

I never saw that episode. Hope it comes out on video. It's like Mayte got Duped into doing this Nip Tuck and she Didn't have to do it. Pasties and a G-string? I think Prince Had to Disassociate if he is a Jehovah Witness they wouldn't dig his wife doing NUDITY and stuff. Y Know how many times MOTLEY CRUE had ASSOCIATION here in Florida with PURE PLATINUM? I Have no desire since I am NOT into HEAVY METAL at ALL. Plus I think they are Too wild and have a Bad Reputation with DRUG USE. I am Not even KNOWING WHY MAYTE HAD to GO THIS WAY? Why didn't she stay within Prince's DOMAIN? Doesn't make SENSE....She was Directing his videos THE ONE....Why doesn't Mayte do what Carmen Has and do some EXERCISE? BELLYDANCING? Some good Instructional Dance Videos? She has always had an AMAZING BODY....She shoulda stayed with R and B instead of going near Tommy and his Wild Ways. I'm glad she will be doing more filmwork.

I saw that Nip/Tuck episode (actually only the first five minutes). It was incredible.

It was ep 2.2, called "Christian Troy" of 29 June 2004. She played Ralyn. Just check IMDb if you have questions like that. It's a lot quicker than waiting for someone else to tell you...
