jevetta steele - open book

A truly in-spiritual song..... it raises the hair on my arm's everytime I play this track. I love the background vocals w/ PRINCE. Jevetta has a phenomenal voice.

I'd love 2 know the details of what inspired PRINCE 2 write this song??.....

"Calling my Name" scares me a little. That song makes me scared and depressed. Then that phone commercial came playing something similar. I had nightmares for 6 months.

I love this song too. Prince's version is easily one of his most beautiful. It's songs and renditions of songs like this that remind me how phenomenal he actually is. He has a song this good and he gives it away to a singer who will never be heard of. He has a song this good and never bothers to play it live. Wouldn't this have gone over well during the NAACP performance? Wow.

Anyhow, it's very interesting that we've never heard clearly what exactly happened in the writing of this song. Martika's 'Safe in Your Arms' has very similar lyrics.. some are just a variation of lyrics in 'Open Book'. Both songs came out within a couple of year of one another. of course, Martika's song sucks but, I neve figured out what happened and why they each of very similar songs..

Also, whatever happened to Martika"?
