If her name is Manuella...why call her Mani? Unless it's like she has to have a "name" or something like electra or pearl.

I think it was in tribute to the former Bass player with the Stone Roses Gary "Mani Mounfield" Man that guy is a legend!

Because that's what she calls herself. Or at least, how she signed her posts way back in the day when she was on a Prince fan board. People have posted links to her messages before (you may still be able to Google or Yahoo her name and come up with them), but the particular threads they were in elude me.
We don't know her, though, so I guess there's no real reason we couldn't call her Manu, Wayla or anything else we think of... | |
