Looks like major financial issues:

I don't doubt it. They obviously need the money. I don't think anyone disputes or has a problem with that. But there is a lot of things they could be doing but aren't. Instead they just keep asking fans to pay thought the nose.

Which absolutely no one is forced to do. The last thing I want is for them to start rushing out vault material. I want the right people involved to do it properly.

Indeed. Londell is working for the Bremer Trust, who hired him (and Koppelman) to help them manage Prince's affairs until the inheritance is settled. Obviously, BT is involved in organizing this Cele, given that they are the ones currently running the estate. So why would someone working for BT be publicly criticizing the Cele? Looks odd to me.

OTOH, it seemed like Londell got heavily involved in organizing the tribute concert, and we saw how that became a bit of a cluster. So maybe he was kept out of arranging this event? wink lol

I think there's a bit of misunderstanding here.

Bremer hired Graceland Holdings to operate Paisley.

Bremer hired Londell and Charles to operate the recorded music business deals.

Events at Paisley aren't going through Londell. He can report back to Bremer if fans are expressing grievances.

Fine, but its still not a good look for Londell to be publicly sniping at things going on at PP. He's been overly talkative (primarly via twitter) for quite awhile now. JMHO.

So do you concur with my assessment that he had a lot to do with organizing the tribute concert? I mean, the one that happened, versus the promised one (at US Bank stadium) that didn't happen, lol. In fact, do u have any insight on that mess?

Yeah there's something about Londell that rubs me the wrong way. Mostly his cryptic comments on Twitter. On the one hand he tweete things that make it appear like he has more power than he really does; on the other he'll tweet things that give the impression he's frustrated people think he has control over things he doesn't. He really needs to be quiet.

They would't be charging those high prices if they didn't think people would buy the tickets. I don't people realized that it costed Prince a lot of money to run Paisley Park.

I just hope they give people who are paying the high prices a great vaule for their money and don't forget others who can't go into those high price rates.

PP tweeted this morning:

I wonder how many they made available? I hope they offer some cheaper single day tickets too.

Seems like they have a pretty good sense of what will sell in spite of all the negativity from many fans I've seen on FB. I'm happy about that because I do want PP to survive and hopefully thrive. Can't imagine that the winter months will be very busy given weather conditions...but what do I know, I'm not involved in all this.

Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end nod

That is true. They are not going to make everyone happy. I can tell you that $999 sounds like a shake down to me regardless of the date or content. $499 is a shakedown too.

[Edited 11/28/16 10:30am]

I would love to understand the thought behind pricing. Why would they intentionally price it to where many would think it's an outrageous cash grab? If nothing else it looks bad from a PR standpoint. They're not charging outrageous prices for tours or merchandise so why for this? confused

it's called paying for the Estate Tax which will be over $100 million dollars.

According to another tweet by PP people have been purchasing tickets from all over the globe which is nice to see.

And on Sundays, beginning Dec. 4, the duo, who also own People’s Organic restaurants in the Twin Cities, will offer brunch via a VIP tour package called the “Brunch Experience.” Tickets to the tour and brunch run $100 apiece.

I have never paid $999 for the Prince celebrations when he was alive. I'm not sure that he would want us to be celebrating the day he died. Most of us already did the tributes and have seen many of the acts that are performing, so they better come up with something else, i.e., viewing of the entirety of the January 21st shows or this won't be well received.

I would whether put money towards the best private detective in America. Wouldn't it be great if the Purple army was for real and we hired a detective? Just thoughts

-- I said that Paisley Park would do well with this as Prince had fans all over the world. I pretty sure you will not read much this event in the media.

If Prince was around, no doubt I would have spent the bucks!

But I guess the next closest thing would be to view pro shot concerts and videos that are not released in a home theater setting with food and drink. Like for hours.

That would get me there since the last big thing in 2002.

Really don't see the big deal given how many performers are going to be there and the other things that go with the cost. Why do people think that those who've performed with Prince in the past think those people should do this for free or short money? I don't think it's too much to ask for since most people who go on vacation every year probably spend a couple thousand anyway. So why the angst? It's the same on FB, people saying "oh, I paid $250 for a week of performances by Prince back in 2002". Seriously? These things aren't comparable and no one is gonna pay any amount of money ever again to see Prince live so a ridiculous comparison imo. Take it or leave it...but damn, it's tiresome to see his fans bitching constantly about everything being done to keep PP operational. Would you all be happy if it closed down and had to be sold because people didn't want to pay to support the cost? People don't really think the family should foot the bill, do they? How else will the doors stay open? People need to get a grip and stop complaining all the time about everything. Sorry to rant, but I'm tired of this same scenario played over and over and over.

So apparently there are two of Prince's vehicles on display in the soundstage now. I wonder if they will open the area where he kept his cars for the celebration event? It would be cool to see all of them.

Sigh...Now I know why Prince could've taken the place of my man. lol The cars are just as beautiful as Prince was.

Forgive me if my post is redundant compared with others', but GEEMONEEZ, LOUISE! $999.00???!!! For me to pay that, Prince would have to be resurrected and appear in the flesh! I don't mean to be macabre or disrespectful, but this is a bit much. I have paid $400 for concert tickets, but a grand is a bit large for a “celebration” with only one meal pass. For that amount of money, meal passes should be provided for each day, not just one meal. I may have misunderstood because it says “a meal pass,” so that may mean one meal each day, which would be a better deal, but still...

I'm surprised those tickets are sold out, but Price has fans from all socioeconomic groups with deep pockets or fans who will scrimp and scrape to save enough to be a part of this, but I can't do it. I mean, if I were in better physical condition, I might have considered it, but I know my body, and I wouldn't be able to stand for long periods.
