I enjoyed them very much so,
i can tell by your writing your fairly young... My poetry is full of dried up philosophy, that people think is brilliant but i think is well... ack one hint of advice... when theirs no inspiration left in you... always look to mother nature for she will always be your muse... its because of her i never suffer writers block!

When do you write poetry?
I find this an interestin question. I mean i guess some poetz may designate a time to work on their shit...but if i had to speak for myself...i get in2 this funny groove where i feel like 'omg...need a pen..need a pen NOW'...not even necessarily a 'thought' about what'z about to be put there...and then i just spill like it came from thin airz I did 'poetry' as a subject also when i studied writing and editing. I mean i had so much respect for da people in my class- they were soooo much more well versed in poetry (excuse da pun) than i felt i was. And so my next question is... Do you workshop your poetry? I alwayz had a hardtime with this. I mean, fix a word or two- dat'z fine...but reconstucting what to me is like this rawness from within (??? maybe it'z not a rawness from within for everybody...) seemed so wrong. But yet i was sure i was da only person who felt dat way. I mean i saw poetry beyond it's contructed artform...and dat in itself is a contradictionz in termz of meanz I mean how a poem is percieved can be different in da mindz of many, right? But being in a class for it gave it such structure. It seemed like such an intelligent thing to do. And alot of it was quite cool. But when i personally write i hate 2 stick to rulez and conventionz. Any thoughtz on these as a writer? No hablo espanol,no!
Pero hablo ingles..ssii muy muy bien... "Come into my world..." Missy Quote of da Month: "yeah, sure, that's cool...wait WHAT?! "

Hey lilmiss, I would like to say as a songwriter I like real emotion and not so much the rules of verse. I don't care about structure over substance. For me, it's all about the essence of what u are saying...

hey gurl, how u doin? I write poetry whenever it strikes, if its on a train or bus or car, i use my cell phone, otha than that its purple pen and purple notebook. lol. Creativity is not forced, neither is true humanity/love etc. ha, sometimes i am like that esp at 1,2,3,4am,lol.
As i have said numerous times 2 others, i used 2 (at 16,17yrs old) think when i was writing ( if that makes sense) but now I don't, I just write what comes 2 my head. It takes away it's value, as being fresh and uninhibited, not worrying bout others and their opinions etc, do u know what i mean? I totalllly agree there, everything, not just poetry is diff 2 others, yea. hahaha, thass cute. U're like me I don't like 2 be boxed either, if there r rules 2 follow at school, i will follow them cause it makes things easier 4 all, but with my own world, no way. hope i made sense. lilmissmissy said: When do you write poetry?

But yet i'm kinda proud of anything I wrote back then- it seemz i was alwayz after 'da deeper meaning' and it came through quite possibly through da sub-conscience- you dat whole writing withouth 'thinking'. I ususally come out of any creative session a bit floaty and feel like im LOL!! But nothin was taken, i swear!! Keep doin what you're doinz girly!! Song Writing and poetry, are two entirely different things i know, cause i do both lol but i understand what your dsaying Poetry is something that needs substance and structure or else its just a real mess it takes time and dedication to master structure Song writing i believe is much easier cause all you need is rhyming couplets and a good rhyming dictionary it follows the music etc... sometimes it doesn't even have to rhyme i find it best as a song writer to combine elements of poetry such as allusion, imagery of the 5 senses and perhaps some personification, metaphors etc... that may sound pretentious but thats how i am lol but then again i always get good replies on my songs no matter how sucky i think of them lol and i think everything i write is pure garbage lol

Good for them, absolutely, if datz da way they feel!! But in my own opinion i've found it quite heart breakin seein people stress so much over structure...i mean i know some people intend to go off and write a sonnett or what have you...but to me it seemz 2 take away from da soul of it all. If there must be a convention, im gonna invent my own one just 2 please da vast population of poetz who do prefer structure (and datz just about most of em!!) When some people write, it comez from within- it'z just painful 2 see them pickin at it so much. It actually made me lose interest when i was in a poetry class some yearz ago. I thought 'now is this my EDITING class or is this my POETRY class?' I respect your opinion though No hablo espanol,no!
