...and boy, does it ever smell funny in that place.

a fellow orgette (thank u, azurestar!) has lent me her username/password so i could go 2 the npgmc and scope the place out. the site? s'okay, i suppose. a few things:

1) the demo-eatin doggie = cheaply animated. ya think they coulda done betta with some of the animations on the site. still cute, tho'.

2) the navigation = pretty sweet. i like sites where ya gotta do a little bit of searchin/clickin around 2 see what's what.

3) duckie in the pool = am i the only one who wishes there were somethin u could do with that little kiddie pool in the backyard (like dunk the dog in it or do somethin with the duck)? mrbliss has made it into prince-dom, in a way

4) the big ol' library = kinna cheery and creepy all in the same go.


the site overall = nice, but i prefer the org...more user-friendly and not so graphics-happy.

There were so many people here b4 because there was no where else to hang out. They have left this place and gone to where the y pay to hang out! Personally, I don't care. I hang out here and there. I don't agree that people are fake there - maybe in the chat rooms but in the forums people are quick to say what they don't like too - which is cool.

preach on, stymie!!! yer not the only one who feels this way. i get tired of hearing the org slammed for being "negative" - without it the last we would have heard from prince would have been sometime in '99. his website has always been consistently short on information.

the npgmc has some good things about it (the graphics, the music -- more, please!!) and so does the org (free speech, less insane religious fanatic sheep.)

just because i like prince and he's now conservatively religious (as opposed to his former, much broader approach to spirituality), doesn't mean i would enjoy sitting in a chat room talking about why the tetragammon or whatever was taken out of king james bible. sorry - i mean, i'm educated, y'know? but it's just not my bag is all. and there's apparently very little room for "difference" in prince's world anymore.

I will give my :two cents: on this.

If it seems that people in the NPGMC forums are fake it is probably because knowing the way Prince is and the way some people from the NPGMC have responded to e-mails in the past, they might get thrown out of the club for voicing their opinions. I have heard some many times in the past that if you don't agree with Prince's opinions you get snubbed. They also don't want to piss him off to the point that he just say fine and takes out the forum to shut ppl up.

On the other hand their could be some truth to all of the feelings between the Club and the org. I was in the chat room the other night and saw some names that looked familar. I said hello everyone seem nice then I asked Who here is also on the org I got NO response so I just dropped it and I tried to ask a few questions. I would wait until things would get a little calm and post my question and wait. Someone else would ask a question and almost immediately their questions got answered. So I would ask again and the same thing would happen. I had to ask about 10 times before someone piped up and said hey someone answer this guys question so he can get out of here. I kinda felt like I was unwelcome.

I don't know maybe it was that night I will see my next time in the chat room. If it happens again you ppl may be right about the ppl on there. I would hope not since we are all supposed to be fans and that site is meant to be a community. We shall see.

Fairlite, I was there for the time you mentioned. My reason for not responding right away was two fold.

1) If I did not say hi it's because the chat was moving so fast.

2) I was tired of talking about the Org in that chat room. For people who say they are positive and respectful, they've got some rather negative and disrespectful things to say about the Org, and I was tired of that particular debate.

I go to the NPGMC chat because it is Prince's house. I am myself as much as possible, typing fast 3-4 words at a time to try and keep up.

I think the chat seems very clique-ish because we are all very new to getting together in one spot. Prince has been a no show for so long that folks found other spots to connect. Some due to geographical reasons...they want to know folks in their area so they can get together and shake dey's s. Some like the vibe of a place and make that their "home." Some have known each other for so long that no matter where they meet they have that in common and spend time catching up w/ one another.

The NPGMC chat is very young. If it is not choked to death, I think it will develop into a nice room. I think that could happen faster if they'd slow the refresh speed down, but all in good time.

my biggest problem with npgmc's chat/forum is the fact that there is a topic but every time i try to discuss it the only reply i get is "oh, sorry, we already talked about that" and then it's back to "so, do you think Prince is gonna come in and chat with us sometime...blah, blah, blah".

I just want you all to know that, while i do enjoy the npgmc website, i LOVE the org and prefer it 100x over. Even if some of y'all work my last good nerve!
