new hardware??

What's the 'New Hardware added' as mentioned in the email?

It may refer to hardware that the NPGMC has used to improve the site's performance (i.e. servers, routers, etc). This is nothing that you would necessarily be able to use -- it should just make the site run more smoothly.

Yesterday, about lunchtime UK, when you went to the NPGMC site, there was a screen that told you that the site would be down for half an hour. I presume that's when they were installing the new hardware.
