NPGMC 2003....???

Does anyone have a clue where P is going with this... sure the website looks nifty from what I've seen, but what's actually IN IT for the $25,- he's charging... one new song and some previews from a DVD that will eventually be on general release? This is not meant as criticism but I'm just curious what people think is coming next...

Well, I've just "inherited" an account, from a friend who doesn't use it anymore (Thank you A) and I have no clue.
I see what whatever was promised in the joining form is there, so if it's worth it or not could've been determined before you joined.
I think the purpose was to create a community, a group. an official place for Prince fans to communicate with one another.
I hope he creates more music, and I hope it'll be released, but he didn't promise us any of that, so we could only hope and be greatful if it happens.

My mistake. For some reason I thought it was a music club, a place where the music of Prince could be discovered, discussed, and possibly even acquired.

there are still seven months left in the year. There will be more new songs, more new video, more chats, etc. It is worth the $25 to me, but if it isn't to you, then you are correct as well. But it is a bargain to thousands of people and that is who the club is set up for, not for people who don't want it.

I've been there from year one, so release your claim of knowing "who the club is set up for." I'm not looking for a bargain, and I'm not crying about the $25 - please. I was a strong proponent of the MUSIC club last year, even when the price was higher. But someone please tell me how the current grade-school, cartoon-fantasy, devoid-of-music site has anything to do with the seriousness of his music.

It's a total disconnect for me. Imagine telling a friend about the greatness of Prince's recent musical output. The friend then buys ONA Live at the local wrecka sto, reads the glowing testimonials, hears the greatness of the music, then enthusiastically sign up for the NPG MUSIC Club. Talk about a letdown. Seriously, if you dig chasing cartoon, disappearing images of Prince through endlessly tedious portals, then that's YOUR preference. For me, I'm there for the MUSIC. And there's precious little of that at the present time.

PATIENCE PEOPLE PATIENCE...

Remember last year when everyone was bitching about where their money had gone, and where was their 4 CDs etc. In the end, he came through and delivered the goods. So please, be patient. It's only just over a week old!

Sorry, but I got hoppin' mad after spending endless hours trying to access the only part of the current "music" club that I wanted - the freakin' videos. So I was forced to bend the rules, and with additional cyber-ridiculousness, download the stuff to my vanishing hard drive. I'm still a little pissed.

marty mcfly, miss cute, the max: i am in absolute agreement with ALL of you on this one. i find it pretty pathetic that the site is completely devoid of music. i mean, if you're going to put up some ahdio shows that we already purchased in year 1, hey cool...why not put ALL of them up in an archive, so that people who don't still have the originals due to computers crashing or cd's going bad or whatever can download them now? i mean, i'd prefer NEW music, but give us SOMEthing please!!! it IS called the MUSIC club...not the NPGDiscussionClub.

and joshy84au - yer totally right too (but you knew that!) - it WISHES it could be half as cool as this place. ain't NEVER gonna happen, and the org don't charge JACK.

I feel ya', Max. So far, I'm having more fun watching everyone else deal with the Club than I did last year as a member. If he ever gets around to dropping a CD or 2, i might look into it.

Personally, I think the whole Club is destined to become a JW offshoot a place designed by, and exclusively for, members of that religion.

But we'll see.
