It's just a simple website with a couple videos, people. Relax. It's cool, yes, but other than the fact that it's free it's not really anything more than we've had since the NPGMC. He could have just as easily put those videos on YouTube.
Before I get attacked unnecessarily, I'm not hating, just being realistic. Nothing has really changed. No new album. No major tour. Still changing band members like they're underwear. Still talking about stuff that he never does anything about (see the current issue of Billboard). I love this guys music and I respect what he's done in life, but I'm still waiting to see how much follow through we get on any of this stuff before I get too excited.

Look's promising. Thanks Prince and to all those who make it possible. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

I hope it stays this simple and FREE. If I have to pay to join yet another website I am NOT going to be happy.
Either way Screwdriver ROCKS!

It's great that Prince has a new website, but why does the URL have to be so obscure? I want this site to be promoted and to be successful. He should've just used a simple URL like: Prince, PrinceRogersNelson, NPGRecords or PaisleyPark. Something the general public can find. It's kind of a shame that apart from us fans no one else is ever going to know about this website because the URL is so arcane.

If Prince got his name back in 2000, why is he still using the symbol on his new site?

Yeah, like, isn't it somewhere on the Purple Rain album cover/artwork?

Listened to the new song on headphones. He almost screwed it up in the end IMO with the forced screams and obnoxious "SCREW" and silly guitar showoff at the very end that has nothing to do with the rest of the song.
But not quite. I like it. I have wanted him to see what he could do with limited instrumentation for a long time. Chaos & Disorder and The Truth are not quite it. They are still filled with keyboard noises and big production.
I don't want Prince to only do this kind of thing, but to focus on it for ten songs or so might be nice. My Legacy

They have been, you are correct. But I have a personal no piracy policy which I adhere to, so I have thus far refused to buy it.
If Prince releases an official version, I will pay for it.

I would have thought the answer to this question was pretty obvious to be honest. But for those who arent on the same page as the rest of us, I will explain.
The "LoveSymbol" whilst was the name he was releasing material under for a period of time between about 1993 through to 2000, is also a "brand" if you like which is synonomous with Prince. You could perhaps call it a company logo if you like. Its a symbol that people instantly recognize as being attached to Prince or a Prince project.
The majority of you would have seen on this "Welcome 2" shows, his stage was shaped in the same symbol. He regularly uses guitars with the same shape. This symbol regularly appears within the artwork gracing an album cover even though the album is released as a "Prince" album.
I hope this now settles this question, which really doesnt need to be asked repeatedly.
