You asked the rhetorical question: "...what if the amount of mails complaining and whining were to such an extent that those employed were unable to handle the volume?"

Add to that the fact that NOBODY got a mail back, then what do you get? Quite precisely what i made out of your naive statement, eh?

And please stop babbling about people twisting things and putting words in your mouth you didn't use. We so far beyond the point where that's the question. We're talking about the very facts of Lotusflow3r and you seem to have an attachment thing going with Prince which is only understandable in terms of psychoanalysis.. Good for you, because it allows you to repress what everybody else can see and angers about, but unfortunately, it doesn't make any of your statements more true.

And btw... you still haven't got through to the point where you see who's not taken seriously here, have you? lol

It costs nothing and the negative feelings would disappear immediately.

Not a snowball's chance in hell of that happening, but it would work. I bet some of even the most jaded fans would gladly tell him to keep the $77 for that.

Prince just apologized too early when he leaked Box O Chocolates. His timing has never been his strong suit.

There you go twisting things to your own understanding again. biggrin Why should I be angry, I wasn't charged? I didn't say people should not be angry for being charged, but the fact is.... some have had their money refunded already AND there was an immediate response the day it happened.

So they've ALL had a reply to their not wanting to renew their subscription in one mail. You're the one getting your knickers in a knot. I'm not.

EXACTLY! History has shown us that, when it comes to Prince, you have to take a 'wait and see' approach.I remember in the mid-90s,I subscribed to his NPG magazine.I didn't receive an issue of the magazine until six months later, after weeks of complaining, calling and sending letters. And then there was the Crystal Ball fiasco.

Next time, don't be in such a hurry to give your money to Prince! lol Wait and see if he's actually gonna deliver.

IIRC, the NPG magazine also ceased publication without refunding on unfulfilled subscriptions.

Glad I knew better this time around, but sorry for the newer fans who wasted (or now, had taken) scarce $$.

So.. in your opinion, "should" people be angry or not?? There was a refund now AND an immediate response, as you put it.. And ALL had a reply and stuff...

So do you think everything turned out fine in the end?

Yep. No one is saying Prince needs to learn HTML or MySQL or whatever and deal with the innerworking of the site itself...that's ridiculous. Surely the dude holds meetings of some sort, how hard is it for the guy to just ask something along the lines of "Oh, how's my site doing, by the way? Any issues?" rolleyes

I agree with this, but not all the 'Prince is a thief' crap. It sounds like it was the third-party payment processor that ran the transactions automatically anyway. So even if he did ask the site developer, they may have said 'yeah, we're cool, nothing will run', then is it still Prince's fault?

I really have no empathy for those who have a shelf full of boots, but then think they have a right to bitch about every little thing Prince does and then take joy out of his troubles.

People may think I'm a 'fam' or whatever, but it's more that I'm trying not to be hypocritical. I have lots of CDs & videos that say I can't be. I can't bitch about paying $77 for last year's membership after gaining some of the material I did this year. But, my(our) curiosity, greed and wonder of his talent make the lines of right and wrong blur. Unlike a lot of you, I think he NEEDS to be paid for his work and the membership was a way to do that. No matter how the booted material has reached us, the fact is, it's UNOFFICIAL and we, the general public, were not meant to have it.

Some of you guys act like he's come to your house and fucked your dog, when it's been YOUR CHOICE all along to follow the man. When shit like this starts happening, I sign off the .org, go put on a CD or video and get back to why I support him...the music, not his personal or business dealings.

Well whooptie-fuckin' do for you then.

And what of those who don't own boots? Do they have the right to feel like they have been ripped off?

Why this keeps coming up in a thread about people being pissed about getting charged for a second year is beyond me. Because I own a ton of boots should I just feel it's justified to be charged for a second year? Boots that I would be more than willing to pay for if they ever officially get released?

If this were Best Buy or any other company would we have your permission to be pissed off then? Considering we hadn't "stolen" from best Buy? lol

I wonder has Prince ever paid for the boots of other musicians' music he had? hmmm

I was assuming all merchent processors work the same way cause my sister who runs her own buisness takes credit/debit card transaction and the payments she takes certainly does not go straight into her buisness account...and no im not in denial prince and his buisness fucked up but yall acting as if he personally with the intention of stealing your money took it...the website is giving refunds yes i understand this may cause people to go overdrawn and receive bank or credit card charges but seen as it was not authorised by you to leave your account the bank should waive the charges

You "assume" too much! The "majority on here that own boots" have begged and pleaded with Prince and his people for YEARS and YEARS to offer his "booted" material on his many websites for a fee that would have been happily paid directly to him. He chose not to!

Hell, if he'd just put some of his good, quality stuff on Lotusflow3r, it would have been a massive success, instead of yet another colossal internet fail. shrug

I agree with you on that one the only way he could possibly win the war with bootleggers is to beat them at thier own game except releasing them in better quality at a reasonable price but only he knows why he doesnt...could be maybe he thinks people would still bootleg them...but at least he would be making money of his art. he will never completeley stop the bootleggers.

I find this whole thing very odd. I believe people have been trying to e-mail lotusflow3r for at least six months requesting not to be rebilled. To my knowledge no one ever heard back from lotusflow3r. Now, unfortunately, many of us are being rebilled despite our e-mails. Obviously someone at lotusflow3r had to know that many of us were upset and did not plan to renew. Now we get the e-mail from them telling us they are working on the problem and everyone will get a refund. Wouldn't it have been a lot easier for them, and us, not to bill us in the first place? Seems like Prince and/or whoever takes care of his business is pretty clueless. I think I'm done with Prince's online ventures. I'll still buy his cd's but for anything else he's finally pushed me to the point where I feel justified in "stealing" from him.

they didn't answer any emails because they were too busy selling limited
prints of the website art for thousands of dollars a piece and basking in
an undeserved spotlight at conventions, talking about webdesign when they
obviously did just about everything wrong that one possibly can with that
website.
