I also used my Visa debit. I had to enter all 7 cvv/security numbers on the back of the card instead of just the last 3 like usual. It worked when I did that.

finally got it to work. I am SO not closing out the browser until I download all the albums. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED OTHERS ON THE THREAD! Honestly, it was a very frustrating experience just to get to the things I wanted...the music. I ended up downloading the mp3's as that seemed to work.
I think I'll just sit back and listen to the songs and give the site a rest as it's very glitchy right now. Christian Zombie Vampires

Well, I'm off too bed.
I'm not gonna bitch and moan like a lot of others out here. Well not yet, anyway.... I am disappointed that I was not able to download anything tonight, but I'm gonna toss that up to glitches and high traffic. Hope things improve soon. For the record, the songs on Lotus Flower are the best of the three in my opinion..... And Bria's songs are honestly not that bad..... [Edited 3/24/09 21:34pm]

I give the site a 7 for ingenuity. Although there are glitches, it looks good, and works good once you figure out how everything is set up. I'm glad they chose to develop something that would be more just just a plain website. It is as they promised, an experience.
The music is also surprisingly good. After all the bad and mediocre reviews I'm pleasantly surprised to like pretty much everything I've heard (which is rare for Prince, although I love him to death)... even Bria's! Change it one more time..

ah well, if the CC problem isnt cleared up, there will be no european responses, although UK fans dont seem to have had this problem.
BTW are you going to any of the shows? Flo6 said: How can you all go to bed on such a night?!
Will stay up, do homework, with lotus music flowing in the background, and I'll have the European responses for breakfast. 10' past midnight here in Boston, the night will be long, musical & purple:) CarrieMpls said: I'm off to bed as well. ho hum If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

The site sounds like a flop... it sounds like NPGMC on steroids. Seriously Prince, develop a simple site for even casual fans to navigate easily. Dave Matthews Band is the perfect example on how to serve a fan base. Their new site is flawless. Not only does it give you concert updates but their entire catalog live and studio streams free for fans to listen to as they browse the site. www.davematthewsband.com Then let the fans organize forums to talk about the latest buzz about your music. For dmb its antsmarching.org named after one of their songs. If you'd like to make a little bit of cash open a simple simple site with minimal forums that allows fans to purchase tickets ahead of time for $35 a year. If your feeling generous, throw in a bonus live disc each year for fans who sign up for the site. warehouse.davematthewsband.com If your really feeling generous Prince, let your fans develop a fan base around your live music by allowing taping of your shows. If you allow it to be legal, the thought of buying these recordings as bootlegs disappears in the community. dreamingtree.org

Sorry this launch was a big FAIL.
From the solve-the-puzzle sign up screen, having to switch browsers to log-in and or download, choppy video, cluttered screen, the need to go pixel fishing with the cursor, and the list goes on and on. And without a forum for customer service, Prince & his company better give thanks for the existence of fansites like Prince.org otherwise people would not have a damn clue what to do with that site. A site that needs a manual... "Aww buddy what a fuckin waste"--Billy Sparks The upside: songs available in WAV or 320kbps MP3. Would've been nice for the tracks to be tagged properly and for album artwork that would make for easy use via iTunes and the like. First Impressions
Ley me qualify first. I wm a webmaster. I have owned my own webspace and domain for quite some time now. So I'm not as critical on the tech issues because I've experienced them.. I've seen them... I know how that goes. In fact a lot of peeps should have had issues in the past when HQ or the Org would get a sudden rush of people logging on and you couldn't access the site for awhile. ie Shit happens. The Positives - The three albums as promised... Both Prince albums included a track not available on thhe Target CD release. - Nice look... if you liked the album covers then you'ld like the look of the site - HQ video and music. (the choppiness was caused mainly by the rush of people online)... but they are HQ quality.. trust me - The vids up include 'The Sacrifice of Victor' (43 min), Caochella's 'Shhh' and 'Creep'... a few performances on Leno such as 'Turn Me Loose' and 'Guitar'...some of his classic vids like 'Sign O The Times' and 'Alphabet Street' among several others. - Ability to purchase Tickets (for the LA shows for now) The Negatives - They should have expected the surge they got. I know that's a server side problem they may not have had any control over... but still. This caused many problems ranging from slow propogation over the net, trouble with trying to DL the albums initially, a lot of dragging, information such as membership purchases not going through properly, etc - Bria's video was up in its entirety... but as of now... Chocolate Box and Crimson & Clover were both 'SNEAK PEAKS'.....WTF!!!!! - I'm a video game person and am familiar with flash sites like this so I had no problem figuring out how to sign up or find the content.... but I know many did. Now that pissed me off. I'm a video lover and although I got hold...umm... watched some vids never before seen... I really expected those two to be up as promised. Over all... was the $77 worth it.... hmmm... for me yes. As I'm a person who is looking at it in terms of 'the year'... not just 'today' today I got enough to tide ne over for awhile. I want my two new videos.. but I'm happy with the new and HQ versions of the older and bootleg stuff I got. Now I have to go listening to the albums. I'll review them tommorrow on my Myspace blog in proper fashion as I have the lasty feew albums.

Any unreleased music, for those who have been able to get in? That was the biggest carrot for me. I'll still join once the credit card issue is sorted out, but if "Moonbeam Levels" is only available for a week, I'm gonna be upset if I can't get it! Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Rubbish.
It took me ages to get in, if it weren't for the org I still woun't have figured out that I had to enter the 1986 code. Main gripe is the albums download but I can't open the file that downloads. I guess I must be doing something wrong. this has killed my excitment for the new music, this really is frustrating. I'm not bothered about the pictures really but aren't they nearly all from that book

$77 to join? No clues as to what your dollar gets you once you get in? Then we have to jump through hoops to navigate the site? Well, Mr Prince Rogers Nelson, kindly go jump through your own hoop, because I'm so over you, you can go swivel until it hurts. You really do need to keep a check on that ego of yours, it's really not attractive in a 50 odd year man. I'm outa here. So long.

$77 is a lot of money to pay for MP3 files that are not tagged properly. I had to manually input Artist and Album name for 2 of the 3 albums.
Plus for another chance to miss out on concert tickets. P better be playing a lot more concerts this year to make it worth it. Video is soo choppy it's giving me a headache. I'm going to look for my old 'Interactive' cd- should be a better experience!

But audio tracks on them are 256kbps and the video size is 528 x 352. Not to mention the aspect ratio on many of them is completely incorrect. The screen is simply stretched (along with the video image) in order to give it a "wide screen" appearance. Trouble with these type of websites is that they are too difficult to see new content immediately. It doesn't really invite you to check it out a couple of times a day. I will check on the org and other fansites to see if there is new content and then pay a visit to lotusflow3r again. Formerly known as Parade @ HQ and formerly proud owner of www.paradetour.com

Not sure what or how you ripped your vids... but the aspect ratios on all of the ones I got were appropriate for the video. Wides were wide and the 4:3 were just that. Widths between 500-700 are typical of AVI files. Anyway a HQ AVI (FLV) isn't HQ because of its 'size' but rather its video bit rate. Also 256k MP3 is great quality for stereo sound in an AVI (FLV). Too much above that you step into AC3 (dolby digital) range.

KK ... you just loaded the lotusflow3r.com site. You now have a boombox on the right, a glowy orb in the middle of the screen, a TV on the left with a newspaper clipping next to it and a ticket next to the boombox. Click on the ticket. If you haven't already done so, type in '1986' and 'Los Angeles' into the spaces on the ticket. Then fill in all your personal info and give the man your money. If you have already signed up, click where it says 'Already a member? Log in!' then type in the new screen name and password you just created and click 'Go'. It can take a good long time after this for the ticket to go away, the orb gets bigger then goes away and the site comes up. Then follow the first post in this thread to navigate. How hard can it be
