Aaron said it himself: Prince wants financial damages for every act of copyright infringement. That could be millions. If I were HQ I would politely apologize, close the site and offer the domain to Prince. But it seems they are interested in testing their case in court.

IMHO, the people dissing HQ are showing more about themselves than about HQ. As someone pointed out before, is quite curious to see that most of the professional HQ undertakers are people who had serious troubles in HQ before. Thus one smells vendettas, and not serious criticism, in their posts.

But I guess this was clear enough for anybody reading this (and similar) threads here.

What keeps on surprising me (and again, not in a positive way) is that such kind of posts are allowed. I realize that HQ and the org are different places, and with different politics. But the most obvious definition of "fair play", in my book, would imply to cut short the "professional HQ dissers" from going on with their job. We sure did (and will do it) in HQ, when people came there to diss the org.

But yes: I (sadly) realized that such fair play is not to be expected.

No, we did not follow that request. It is a wish from Prince, and as such, is respectable. But given that people taking pictures are doing nothing against the law, after consideration among the moderators team in HQ, it was decided to allow links (mind you : NOT TO HOST) to fan pictures taken during the shows.

I'm sorry, but I have to say it (I respect HQ a lot btw!): this decision was absolutely wrong and, IMHO, probably even stupid.

What 3121.com was sending out was a respectful request. Now, if you decide to ignore it because you think you've got a right to allow links (which IMO is the same as hosting the pictures, just that your webspace isn't used), then I can fully understand that Prince asks his legal team to challenge this decision and test if you really had the right to do so - plus maybe looking into some other aspects of the site which have been tolerated before.

I'm sorry, but IMHO HQ has thrown the first stone in this affair, and, as much as I respect and admire the work of all the people involved in HQ, I have to say that they get what they deserve. Just my 2 cents...

Nevertheless, I wish you guys at HQ all the best and hope you manage to stay online. And I hope for better decisions of the HQ mod team in the future.
