He probably means to say that .org is one big happy family hence the comparison with the NPGMC.

The thing is HQ is where most of the die collectors are and some of them pretend that they know everything which can be marked as arrogant for some people. i

And yes sometimes i disagreed with mods but realise how much effort they put in the sites to keep them up and running and yes sometimes that can be stressful.

@Gav i can't wait until HQ is opened so that i can contribute to the setlists and all the other stuff.

katt thanks for clarifying yourself. i know what you mean, because i try to stay nuetral as well most of the time. once in awhile though it is hard to do. yes gemini had pointed out that she interpeted my post to be fishing or trying to get someone in trouble....and as i explained before, that was not the case whatsoever, or i would have posted th person's name. the point that i was getting at was that that very same person was bashing the quake becuase they "dont' respect prince's wishes". i thought it was very hypocritical that the very person that was bashing the org for not respecting his wishes is a big bootlegger. that was all i meant by that.

rest assured, they are working on a resolution behind closed doors. this thing with npg and housequake goes way further back than everyone has seen recently. housequake wasn't even the ones to make it public, npg and websheriff did that. they came onto housequake and started posting. that is when it all became public. again, i dont say that to go aganist anyone, but i wanted you to understand how it wsa that it became public. aaron did the right thing in shutting the site down this week to give everyone time to rest, cool off, and to continue negotiations behind closed doors.

peace...and let's get back to the funk now cool

really? bcuz I remember the communication was always the mods telling us what NPG told them to take down. My earliest memory was even HQ posting some legal order requesting removal of the superbowl video. I don't recall the NPG actually posting a direct order to HQ? I don't want to misinterpret you, you could very well be right but I just never saw that, and I thought websherrif registered recently before the Site took a break.

back during the superbowl, yes a mod posted the c&d but then it was subsequently removed. We were talking about the current situation. I agree the email probably shouldn't have been posted, members were made aware of the situation at that time because that is the reason they suspended the video forum, and apparently felt the members were entitled to know why it was suspended.

I think the current discussion about taking it behind doors was in reference to all the back and forth on the boards recently, mot the superbowl video.

In regards to the current situation, the NPG did post a direct order. They posted in the forums about removing the concert pics. The thread was removed, and they came back and did it again. If I am not mistaken, Websheriff was also posting, maybe under an alias? This created alot of tension on the boards and the WS and NPG were immediately banned from the site. This is when HQ temporarily shut down registrations a few weeks back because they kept coming back and signing up over and over again. Things went downhill very fast after that. Negotiations were going on behind the scenes and as I understand it WS kept asking for access to the boards again to address members directly. He was granted that access under his name. As someone said, I think WS thought he was going to be met with the same fanfare that he received at princefams.

Of course, I am not a mod, but this is my understanding of the situation. Hope that sheds some light. cool

One question: Are you an attorney?

Can I just jump in here ?

Txladykat has been providing HQ with unofficial, personal advice regarding particular US laws. At this moment no attorney (US or otherwise) has been authorised to accept service on behalf of Housequake.com.

The Prince community is lucky enough to have a number of fans with legal experience who have volunteered their services on a personal basis.

That didn't answer my question.....

I also like clarity 2 so let me say once again I was making a point about how people could misunderstand a situation/words on a screen as you can see it seems to have happened once again with you. If people are going to have an attempt at open discussion or debate about this situation about HQ then full facts should be put on the table so no misunderstanding can arise if this can not happen say due to legal reasons then it would have been best to keep the negotiations in private.

Hold your horses there, You implied HQ was trying to blackmail team npg, I said "no they're not" and your reply was "you're not helping"!? I'm not the one making baseless claims because I'm too lazy to read up on what I'm talking about.
There have been numerous threads about this, here and on HQ (I'm aware that at present you cant access those threads on HQ, but I expect there are other sites with the info). Everything has been explained a number of times by a number of people. 10 pages into this thread you pull out the word "blackmail" seemingly from nowhere since it certainly doesn't apply.
If people don't understand what is happening I'd suggest reading the thread before posting.
Yes people could read "between the lines" but they'd be wrong, as you were. The facts have been stated, There isnt really anything much to question and there is nothing to gain from trying to twist, misrepresent, or "read into things" (that aren't there).
I think HQ did the right thing keeping it's members informed of what was going on. It's a "prince community" website, The website is under threat and that effects the community, The Org looks at things differently and thats fine, nobody has suggested they do otherwise.

I'll apologize in advance for this entire post (although only as a courtesy - I don't actually think I'm wrong) I'm quite aware how condescending I sound here, but to be frank I'm losing patience. You're protesting about HQ making this public, you think it should have been kept behind closed doors... and yet you're quite happy to barge in spouting what amounts to nonsense (re: the blackmail thing, not everything)

I'm never going to get this time back... it must have been a week by now.

Noodle, everyone has a right to their opinion and just because some believe that HQ is partly to blame does not mean that they are not aware, knowledgeable or understand the situation. If you feel HQ is totally in the right then so be it, but not everyone has to follow that path. No matter how many times you post, we are all going to perceive and interpret things differently and that is everyone's right whether you like it or not.

Of course not. Some people feel HQ is at fault (they're wrong (legally)) but they're more than entitled to their opinion.
HOWEVER, throwing out words such as "blackmail" doesnt help anyone. Especially since it has NEVER been said by either side that such a thing happened.

As I said, the facts have been explained a number of times now. Anyone with an interest can read them. The only reason not to is lazyness (ie people assuming that 10 pages in to a thread folks are happy to reapeat what has already been said.

I definately wasnt implying they should agree with HQ. But if they want to participate in the discussion then they should look at how far the discussion has come.

Whether it is based on legal facts or opinions, many have read all the facts and just have a huge problem with how HQ handled the situation, some folks agree with how HQ handled the situation, that is just how it is.

I also stated I was making a point giving a scenario how people could get confused or misinterpret I also showed another example about another situation then followed this on with something txladykat mentioned about a website

I think you’re the one that should read back as well, also your attempts to imply I know jack about this situation for your information you know not what I know so you can believe what you please.
I am certainly not going to get into combatant behaviour with you, you can be as condescending as you please it will just roll over like water does over a ducks back with me dear.

All this pointing fingers in one direction does no good there are many sides to this story. Until the truth decides to rear its head everyone will make there own minds up with the information they have be it right or wrong. What is important at this time is this community stops battling against each other and allows those that need to resolve this get on with the job so that we all can move on.

Prince thinks HQ is breaking a copyright law... they're not. Whats to understand? HQ is doing nothing illegal. (I wont even mention that WS was unable to state the laws they thought HQ were breaking when asked)

Whether it is based on legal facts or opinions, many have read all the facts and just have a huge problem with how HQ handled the situation, some folks agree with how HQ handled the situation, that is just how it is.

Again, fine. Thats not under dispute, If you or anyone has a problem with HOW HQ handled this then just say so. Just dont state opinion as if it was fact, and try not to make alligations of misconduct towards HQ when it's based on absolutely nothing.

This very much took me aback as you are normally so level headed and see all sides and have been vocal about it all in the past. I thought all we were looking for was D.M.S.R..once again I'm deceived about people, the Prince fns community is not an happy oasis as I thought...hope HQ opens again very soon, at least I've never found anyone throwing shit against orgers.

I am certainly not going to get into combatant behaviour with you, you can be as condescending as you please it will just roll over like water does over a ducks back with me dear.

Thankyou

All this pointing fingers in one direction does no good there are many sides to this story.

Actually there are 2 sides. Fans take an interest but they're not involved. (well you did say, and I do love it so)

Until the truth decides to rear its head everyone will make there own minds up with the information they have be it right or wrong. What is important at this time is this community stops battling against each other and allows those that need to resolve this get on with the job so that we all can move on.

This is the issue I think...
"The Truth" is that team npg cant claim copyright of something they dont own.

Your claim is based on the morality of HQ posting pictures Prince doesnt want posted. Thats a different kettle of fish.
The trouble with "moral" issues is that there is no base. Who's morals should we look to. A smackheads morals will clearly be different from jonny currant-bun's morals. But from a moral standpont why should one be seen as "better"?
So all we can do is look to the law.

How can you claim what either side said or didn't say, when we have not heard BOTH sides?

Prince thinks HQ is breaking a copyright law... they're not. Whats to understand? HQ is doing nothing illegal. (I wont even mention that WS was unable to give state the laws it thought HQ was breaking when asked)

Just dont state opinion as if it was fact, and try not to make alligations of misconduct towards HQ when it's based on absolutely nothing.

lol people are saying they have a problem with how HQ handled things and your calling them lazy and that they don't know the facts. The point is whether HQ is breaking the law or not, I just believe that there is more to the story and unless I see all the emails, documents and dialog presented before me, on both ends, rather than it solely being communicated by HQ I cannot jump to HQ's side or Prince's side.

Second, you tell me not to state opinion as fact, when you did the very same thing. You make a claim on saying that neither side made a claim of blackmail when you have no proof of what BOTH sides have say or didn't say. there is so much we don't know, so I agree with katt, things should have been done privately. Right now, I have no idea what is going on behind the scenes with Ben and NPG, if anything is going on at all and that is how I think it should be.
