the quality (sound) of the track is good, but compared to 3121.. the tracks are louder.. so its a bit lower in volume.

Shit, if Prince loves his guitar so much, why doesn't he just play the thing instead of smothering it in high tech bullshit effects? If he really loved his guitar he'd want it to be heard.

Impression on first listen - pretty throwaway, not in a huge hurry to hear it again. The breezy mood is fine, it's just that musically it never really goes anywhere. It feels very raw and rough - just a "sketch" of an idea for a song, rather than a finished song that you'd ask people to pay money for.

Lyrically if Prince is just trying to tell us that he is "married to his music", this spousal abuse needs to stop.

Disappointed.

straight church. AMEN!

Quick question: Can this song file be burned to cd, or can you just listen to the file?

I just got back online now, been gone the entire day and now I'm reading about all of the problems. I don't know if I feel like subjecting myself to this stress right now. lol

It's an mp3 so you can burn, convert, transfer. Do whatever you like with it, mp3's do not and cannot have any protection on them.

So has anyone from outside the US or people without a legit US address been able to download this?

It's pretty ridiculous that it's only available to people with a US billing address, in my opinion.

I'd really like to hear it.

..i could careless what the song is about.

Really?! eek

I find my most beloved Prince songs tell great, great stories: Little Red Corvette (damn good story), Never Take the Place of Your Man, Shy, 1999, Let's Pretend We're Married, Uptown, Raspberry Beret, etc.

I think story telling and metaphorical lyrics are greatly lacking. Yeah the music needs more depth but the narrative needs more depth too.

All day today, I ws thinking ...I wonder what the story's going to be on Guitar...

i guess i can get use to his lyrics not being that fascinating anymore easier than the music. But, I have to admit. I enjoy "guitar" its fun. The music is tight. but is dosen't demand being played over and over. The lyric make you interested just because of his recent personal life and wonder if it reflects that. But it has about 3 lines none of them all that interesting in of themselves. I just keep hoping he acidentally make another "sometimes it snows in april" or "joy in repetition" or even perfect pop like pop life...sometimes he gets close and its better than most everything else but you know he could...and i love to keep hoping.

I must say, I didn't really care much for this song but after hearing it a few times today, it's now starting to grow on me. The production is great and I like the part where he says, "U know the rest" It's not bad,

this new song is pretty boring, imo. I'm always glad to hear a new Prince song though and I"m glad he didn't just throw it in the vault with all the other hundreds of other songs that he won't let us hear.

I've just listened to it 3 times straight. Pretty boring. It probably even wouldn't have made it as a b-side in the Purple Rain era. "17 Days" is a million times better than this nonsense. I'm just glad I didn't pay 2 bucks for it.
wink I would've felt totally rip offed had I done so.

I love Prince as much as anyone here, but facts are facts. He hasn't done a great album since the Gold Experience. He's just no longer capable of writing great songs. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just deluding himself. He's still an ACE performer though, no one even comes close there.

Yes!!! I was hoping for a more serious, mature song like "repitition" or "april." Even some funk would have been nice. This sounds like an attempt to be young or something. What radio station would play this????

SHE is your cousin???? cool!

Yup. smile (and Loretta Lynn, obviously) Back in the 70's/80's Crystal and my mother used to look so much alike it wasn't funny, right down to the long straight hair (though my mother's wasn't near that long. lol).

so cool! that long hair was iconic, I remember tv specials my parents and I would watch in the 70's and my mom would comment on long hair. and Loretta Lynn... dang. So what's the family tree?

Yeah, that hair was something... My mother's only got as far down as her waist at the longest, I think.

Family tree? Well, let's see... My great-granny Viola is Loretta and Crystal's aunt (their mother's sister), so that makes us first cousins, twice removed or some such. lol

I suppose I can see why people might like this song...
But, it's just not for me. I do agree with sentiments made earlier that a song named "Guitar" should feature something more along those lines that what there was.
Broken pieces of guitar solos do not a song make...
This song got one play on my iTunes and that's all it's going to get.
So, here's a plea to Mr. Shorty McPurplepants...
Could you stop the crap that you've been dribbling out to your adoring public lately and finally start doing something good? No, you don't have to swear and no, you don't have to screech like you used to. We know your vocal chords can't really sustain that level of intensity anymore. That's fine. But, you can still rock. So, be like the Nike and "just do it" already.
Okay?
Okay.

Is this song available on iTunes yet, or can you only download it from 3121.com?

Also, do you have to pay a fee to be a member on 3121.com?

Hello every1,
someone has to feel me on this one, i am a 41 year old black man with a wife and 5 kids, been out of work for over a year and i have no cash flow and certainly no credit card, someone send me the song lwhitetriplett@aol.com i hope that isn't illegal or something TRUST me i go to all the concerts i can and buy every album i can i was a member of the NPG music club and all but I am broke like a mug anyway somebody let me know something

You should be banned from this site! First off, you're not black, because if you were you wouldn't announce it. And if you have a wife and 5 kids, maybe you should be spending time with them instead of being online. Anyway, nice try. I'm reporting you to the mods.
