Well, someone tell me about the lyrics and theme, please.

I'm not paying $2 for a one song without a full review. smoker

Did you try going into your C drive and checking MY DOWNLOADS. It might be there.

OK. I got a "review" from someone. woot!

So, I just listened twice.
I like the lyrics.

For a song called "Guitar," wish the star instrument was more more bombastic.
I do like shift at 1:43. But still. More!

Fun tone. Pop feel. Lyrics suck (sowwy) sad .. and the delivery is cute but could have had more nuance.

Rating: 3.5 of 5 stars.

...i dunno...prince needs to work with other musicians in the studio...maybe ones that would challenge him rather than ones he just orders what to sound like. his songs are good now but lack the depth they once did. I dont think or want them to sound like 80's material but him music then and up to about '96 just had a richness. now there is just musicianship...i could careless what the song is about.

FIRST I thought that maybe you had to use your old NPGMC username, but it didn't take.
So I tried to register for a new account, and it won't take a password! I've tried numerous combinations of letters and numbers and it keeps telling me that I must have a minimum of 7 letter and 1 number.

Really?! eek

I find my most beloved Prince songs tell great, great stories: Little Red Corvette (damn good story), Never Take the Place of Your Man, Shy, 1999, Let's Pretend We're Married, Uptown, Raspberry Beret, etc.

I think story telling and metaphorical lyrics are greatly lacking. Yeah the music needs more depth but the narrative needs more depth too.

All day today, I ws thinking ...I wonder what the story's going to be on Guitar...

but, see this is one of the things I dislike about the whole download thing...it's not the same as picking up vinyl- with liner notes- in the old days. I've been wondering for hours now- is this just him alone, anyone else playing on the track, any co-write credits, etc.??? I miss vinyl/LP's and most importantly- liner notes!!!! sad
that being said, yes, I DO want to know where/when/why he wrote this and what (i guess i mean who) it's about. Liner notes used to tell us stuff like when/where it was recorded at least.

You have to include a NON alphanumeric character - !@#$%^&*()?/ something like that included in your password will get you logged in. smile

bottom line.. the music will get shared licenced or not.. its just easier on us folks who actually do pay for it, and don't have to convert it to a wav or some shit to put it in their iTunes folder

the song is kinda catchy but i can see how many of us would be dissapointed with a song called "guitar" and after hearing the new stuff on Howard Stern for sure i thought this would be a Prince rock song like many of us have been craving...oh well i'll file this song in the long line of Prince's mediocre songs since 1996
Check it out ...Shiny Toy Guns R gonna blowup VERY soon and bring melody back to music..you heard it here 1st! http://www.myspacecomment...theone.mp3

First of all I want to thank Prince for offering a Mac compatible standard mp3 download and a cool song. Thankfully I didn't have any of the problems some other people are having purchasing and downloading the song. For me everything went smoothly (at least once someone posted the login url at HQ, I kept getting the same old ad page without a download link every time I visited 3121.com).

As for the song itself, describing a new Prince song referencing earlier Prince works is fraught with peril because everyone hears things differently, so one person might hear one thing and someone else might wonder if they're even listening to the same song.

That being said, I really like the song. It's not a "shredder" type of song like a lot of people were expecting because of the title, but it wouldn't sound out of place on Dirty Mind or Controversy (musically, not lyrically), especially when you listen to the underlying bassline and synth riffs. Music-wise, very old-school Prince. For those having problems, a support email link has been added to the front page: Support@3121.com

I'm having the exact same problem, have you been able to solve it?

I just checked the ur order area and under that it says order and order placed and order modified with the time under each. Does it automatically download to my computer?
