manned Cameras and/or Lights above stage One interesting thing I noticed at the Ames show was that above the stage, just below or inside the hanging speaker configuration, there was a circular array of 8 or 10 seats in each of which staff were sitting. I'm pretty sure they were running spotlights, but I was wondering if they were also running any cameras up there? I couldn't see the movie screens from the floor, so I don't know what they showed on screen. Was all the footage pretty much straight on, or did any of it have kind of a sharp angle from above?
But what really got me was thinking about how long those people had to be sitting there! I don't know how long they were sitting up above before the concert started, but I got in around 7:40, and I didn't leave until 10:45, and they were still there. That'd be a bitch if you had to take a piss just after you got hauled up to your seat!

They probably bring a bottle up there to pee in if they have to. From what I understand, those guys work for the venues and get paid a ton of money to be up there.

Saw them in LA too. they crawled up there to man the lights just b4 the gig started. They're ears must be ripe after a wild night. Love to be those ppl.

didn't see any aerial footage on screen at Reno, but we were sure worried for the folks on the floor beneath them -- the guy closest to us kept leaning over in his chair and reaching down under his seat for something...i just closed my eyes and prayed for good insurance..... "...dem is MY records...don't you ever touch my stereo!"

The camera shots were done with about 4 wide cameras located in the house and 2 located on the set. Also the guys only go up there 30 min. before show time. SUCK IT UP!

Not all the guys r with the venue. There is one led man that works as an lighting crew member with the tour and is the first one up in the truss. (that's the part that the lights hang on to) SUCK IT UP!
