Pshhhhh! I was just thinking what a much better concert it turned out to be with their absence... It's hard to know when someone is trolling or not but if the only reason they bought tickets is because of those two performers then they're not really Prince fans. I'd be one thing if the concert had been really short because they weren't there but it lasted 5 freaking hours. No real fan can complain about wanting their money back. Paisley Park is in your heart

I guess the concert is online, but just wanted to comment how much I enjoyed it! it was like a wild dream featuring so many diverse associates! highlights for me:
ana moura - walk in sand, stevie wonder - " I hope to feel prince's spirit every day of the rest of my life", tony m(!) -- wow!, bobby z's reminiscing, jesse j -- really liked her energy for 'I wanna be your lover', bilal's voice, tyka -- for you (wow!), marva king, Shelby j and doug had great charisma to engage the audience, everyone did an awesome job! so great to see so many band members there! and cool to see tyka and family there. missed anita baker. now I just feel totally good about everyone prince has ever worked with flowing through the veins of the tree of life...purplemaplesyrup

Ana Moura did a livestream:
Hearing the melancholy of the Portuguese guitar and Ana's sentiment on a Prince tribute... there are no words.

Something is seriously wrong with her and I suspect we are now seeing the real side of her personality.

Sorry, i don't follow. I realize it's some sort of dig at Donald Trump, but what's it got to do with Mayte???

I can't believe this was not being filmed for release? How is it for greiving fans when we cannot see it? Sure some have kindly uploaded on YT & Facebook some clips (big thank you for that) but it is not the same as seeing something professionaly filmed (I am thinking how wonderful the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert was when released) - all this is so backwards....... Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 馃挏

not sure if you will be able to see, but I made my short unclear videos from the concert public. I'm sure you will find plenty online and on Youtube. It was a 4 hour long concert, with purple confetti falling at the end, and the real Prince singing Purple Rain, for the encore.

What an incredible group of musicians. Prince knew how to pick them. You definitely can see Prince's influence and work ethic in these musicians that performed with him.

According to Dr. Funkenbery he found someone who was willing to film it for free. Londell never got in touch with the people. I would not be surprised to see him out of the picture in November.

I take everything he says with a grain of salt. He wants everyone to think he's still a player in Prince land. Paisley Park is in your heart

Bittersweet show. Made me miss Prince's perfection, but drove home the point he is no longer with us w/no hope of coming back. The Revolution material covered by NPG just isn't satisfying. Bobby Z was gracious speaker but the band was sorely missed.
But lots of good moments. The Time rocked the house. Judith Hill performing The Cross / HCYDCM brought tears and smiles. Chaka Khan and Stevie Wonder's 1999 was an unexpected treat that worked fine. Andre was up to the task, just wish his vocals weren't lost in the mix. Liv Warfield's take on Hot Thing was... intimidating. Jessie J did a fine version of NC2U. Lots of awkward/missed cues and sound problems but that's forgivable - how do you rehearse a five hour show? Might be just me but things took a questionable turn with all the classless F-bombs... Shelby J performing Erotic City was understandable, but Doug E Fresh pushing the crowd to chant roof is on fire / we don't need water 3x during the show wasn't necessary. Tony M performing Sexy MF couldn't end soon enough. The cursing all seemed spiteful/dancing on a grave. . [Edited 10/14/16 8:35am]

I understand some of you have great contempt for Mayte and like to put her in a bad light whenever possible, but if you read carefully you'd see that this has absolutely nothing to do with her. This is from the group 'Princess''s Facebook, which is Maya Rudolph's Prince tribute band. Blame Maya and her bandmates for this, not Mayte.

Not sure why they had Shelby sing Erotic City. Why not Misty Blue or Nothing Compares 2 U? And considering how Prince felt about cursing later in his life that should have been left out of the show. There are enough songs from the 80s and 90s without curse words to choose from. Paisley Park is in your heart

Eh everybody makes mistakes so really no big deal. - I myself think Mayte has said and done a few questionable things, but generally I like her and think she's a decent person with a good heart, but I respect others' differing opinion and Im not out to change anybody's mind about her. But I guess I'm feeling a bit protective of her today and tired of the seeming desire by some to pin anything 'bad' on her as quickly as possible. At last night's tribute show, during her performance, some loser threw a water bottle at her. DURING HER PERFORMANCE. I think that's low and shitty, I don't care how much someone dislikes her. Have some class and respect for another human being at least. - So, sorry if I came across snippy. I suppose I am snippy today. Last night's show has got me missing Prince more than ever and I'm just so so tired of all the ugliness and hostility swirling around since his passing. - Peace rogifan.

The more I think about it Mayte would never do something like this. It's totally not classy at all. I guess I shouldn't be surprised it came from Maya Rudolph. Paisley Park is in your heart

On the few streams that I saw, it sure looks like it was being professionally filmed. There were overhead cameras and cameramen on stage. I think that article in the StarTrib might have been mistaken.

There was plenty of NPG 90's era material. But each performer's focus was on Prince's songs, not protogee material. Mr Hayes was musical director. Sexy MF, Cream, Gett Off, TMBGITW, Diamonds & Pearls... lots of others. Mayte performed a belly dance w/a sword balanced on her head as intro to "7". I forget the female lead vocalist but the chorus was sung using Prince's recording. Was a huge sing along in the stadium. Tony M was prominently featured on Gett Off and Sexy MF. 3RDEYEGIRL acts got some time too... Liv Warfield performed unexpected/wow and rocked the house. Shelby took lead on Pretzelbodylogic and Donna was great on guitar. Ida was a real treat, too. Mono Neon's solos were amazing... and bittersweet. Never got to see him in a real lineup. That was the one downside to watching on Periscope-most of the time the stream was fuzzy and it was hard to make out details. Or, in two cases, the good-hearted Periscopers tried to get the big screen and the stage in at the same time and cut off people's heads on the big screen so that all you could see were the lower bodies.
