Where you care or not, overrated or not, what is the deal with Beyonce not paying tribute to Prince. I was REALLY hoping she would've done some kind of tribute to him at MTV awards, but instead it was a tribute to herself. Her and this man performed together at the Grammys, he used to always hold her up to the highest and he was part of Tidal. First it was the BET awards when she didn't stick around for the entire award show, but back at the 2009 MTV awards when they had a TRIBUTE for MJ (and NOT for Prince) she was there for that and she was part of the MJ tribute concert back in 2011 because I thought she pregnant with Blue Ivy at the time. That cover of the Beautiful Ones ain't enough. She was performing that song on previous concerts and when she sings it why do she have to wear the MJ influence outfit (that she wore at this year's superbowl) instead of something that reps Prince. I just noticed I haven't heard much from her since his passing.

Her and Jay Z are too full of themselves and she's probably too busy keeping an eye on JayZ so he doesn't have anymore affairs.

Knowing that artists were paid to perform or had their expenses covered explains why there wasn't a parade of a-listers on the bill.

this was my first thought when i heard people were dropping out of the show. i'm surprised anyone was paid. i would expect to have my expenses paid for something like this but charge a fee?

i'm surprised that people think p and bey were close. like akeys, it was a showbiz friends thing. a part from the obvious absentees, the people who performed were either band members or friends. that JH was there suggests,to me, that her and p were loved up. we know why all the other singers were there,but JH was never his bg singer. she did a few tracks but nothing major. where was AA or LaLa and Delilah if they were/are his exes? i assume bria husband didn't want to go. and where was LG(not that i missed him).

I know he used to. I didn't hear much from him about her in these later years except 2 things:

When he would play "Single Ladies" on the sampler set and the comment about " I ain't mad at anything she does, those are great songs" I couldn't find any proof of this anywhere expect one

person saying on a Prince podcast. Something where Prince referred to Beyonce as "used to be talented" as if to say she less talented because she got more explicit.

I thought about her too and one thing that came to mind was maybe Janet was pissed at Prince for the same thing she's still pissed at Chris Rock about. In 2004 Prince said at the Del Rey conference and on Tavis about her superbowl malfunction about showing "old skin" I would've been pissed to because Janet was 37 and she still looked great just like Prince still looked great showing his chest at 45/46 years old.

I thought about Alicia too. I had my tape rolling at the BET awards back in June thinking she was gonna include Prince doing her performance. Wrong! I haven't heard much of a tribute from her either beside the How come U don't call me anymore-Tribeca performance.

Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz, The Weekend, Bruno Mars. I could name a few more also. Those people looked up to Prince. I think if they would plan something now for say an April date next year they might be able to get a few big names.
