Maybe the only way of dealing with touts is to put on more than enough shows to make sure they dont sell out? supply n demand and all that.
Well that's pretty much what's happened here. They're are having to sell tickets below face value to make back what money they can
.
Yep, they either genuinely thought they would sell them all out or someone came up with a stroke of genius, we'll never know [Edited 5/7/14 10:53am] |

The sickening thing though is that its not the touts who've been duped - its genuine fans who counted down the hours until noon on Friday and had 3 laptops and a phone ready. There are lots of fans like me, I'm sure, who were a bit over-enthusiastic / panicky and bought too many to try to get decent views thinkng they'd sell spares at FV. Some great tickets have been held back - I'm now looking at seats in the 5th row still available. |

I've seen tix still for sale on Ebay even after the show is over. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Yep I am one of those people. I got over enthusiastic and bought too many and haven't shifted them. I am not a tout nor looking to make any money on them. I just would prefer to get back what I paid and I am a littl annoyed seeing row A and B tickets come on sale now... not on. The worst thing is that a lot of places will take down the tickets by Monday i think as you just can't gurantee posting the tickets to them and then them to the buyer and there is no sign of tickets being printed and sent out yet. Whatever you heard about me is true

I know, it's terrible. Like yourself I panicked and got a pair of the £135 tickets thinking I'd got lucky, only to find that there are much better seats available days after I thought the show had sold out
Have you had any luck in selling your spares? I got two sides... and they're both friends. |

I sold a pair of seated through StubHub at FV but may lose that buyer if the tix don't come in the post soon. Also got 2 standing to sell. All Brum on the 15th. I've been such a mug! Don't tell the wife! |

I'm wonder how empty these arenas will be? On release day, they only released the back rows of the plum blocks. Now they the rest of the blocks are available, only the first few rows are selling, and fairly slowly.
I was tempted to snap a few more nights with such good seats, and although I'm pretty well off, I won't pay those prices out of principle. So if die hards don't casuals are even more unlikely. I've taken some 30 odd casual fans over the years, all of them loved it, but all of them are passing up this time due to the price. Can't get a single taker.

Squirrel meat I totally agree two of my friends who are lifelong fans of Prince are not interested in these shows due to price, even though they know he's in brilliant live form. |

How do you buy too many ? Oh thats right, to sell for a profit. Whats your problem? Don't you DARE accuse me of that sat behind your computer screen. If i was selling for a profit why would i be posting on here for tickets on sale at face value or even tell my story if i wanted to make a profit ?.... I simply kept seeing better and better seats as calciumpaul said and i got carried away.. I kept thinking well i'm sure some friends or someone will want them at FACE VALUE but that didn't work out forcing me to put them on 3rd party sites at FACE VALUE minus ticket fees so at my own loss. People like you are so judgemental and wind me up. Whatever you heard about me is true

I'm in the exact same situation as you, i was bought 2 tickets as a suprise, i bought my own also. Then my lovely aunt saw better seats for me and got me 2 MORE seats. I'm stressed out trying to find real fans to sell these tickets to. Under no circumstances will i accept more than face value. |

Your saying it on here because you feel conned, yet if it wasn't for people like you every fan would have been able to buy tickets on the day of sale. Not waiting to see what price they are on eBay.

You are a ridiclous fool. I don't feel conned. It is my own fault and one for me to deal with and fans can still buy tickets should they wish as they are still available and many are on at sale at face value online so take your bitterness elsewhere.

Thanks colourtin. I think it is because like someone said above the prices were just too high and priced out casual fans. I know a lot of people that said they would of taken then off me but at those price... people would pay maybe £60 tops inc booking fee. Wish you all the best in selling yours on. Well I'm also guilty by association of this "offence". I bought three standing tix. Intention always was to persuade members of my family to come along. As it happens I have a spare. Put on here at FV first before any resell site but actually sold it now on one of those sites for 45 pounds. I had zero intention of making a profit but thought when I bought them, if I have a spare I will offer to the vast numbers of P fans. As it happens the prices seem to have put off a lot of casual attendees.
People do buy them for other people, for many reasons, and then have to offload them. We're not all bloodsucking touts |

Yours is different, you say you brought it for a family member then they couldnt go. but just buying tickets knowing your going to sell them is the same as touting, and yes you can buy them still on official websites and thats why strawberry is stuck with the ones he wanted to sell on, if they were all sold out he wouldnt be on here trying to get people feeling sorry for him that he's stuck with tickets as he would have shifted them easy. |

1. If you read what I said properly you will see (which is pointless for you as you keep reading things I didn't write like I feel conned and I am a tout) I originally thought some friends would want them but they didn't as they already got their own and some just couldn't fork out for them
2. Keeping the above in mind I was not sat there buying thinking mwahahaha I am going to make a KILLING on these. Again READ what I posted, I thought someone will want them and I didn't think of selling them for anything more (or less) for what I paid.
3. I am not justifying myself to you anymore. You seem to have singled me out when there are a people on here in exactly the same boat but you seem intent on banging on about me being a tout Why don't you go to the Manchester thread and pick on people who have now seen row A seats available in block 102 and are selling their standing ones? Not any different to what I am doing.

i didn't notice any postage options when ordering, but tickets from one agency turned up yesterday by special delivery, not normal recorded. with another agency, it said one ticket/date was due for despatch and the other date/ticket they were awaiting tickets.
if you log into your account with the ticket agency it should tell you the ticket status. bear in mind it was a bank holiday weekend so the post will be slower this week whilst it catches up with the holiday
i actually expected the tickets to be available as pdf print at home due to lack of notice, as that's how the last manc tickets were done, but i never saw this option. bearing in mind people travelling etc they need to get all the tickets sent by the end of the week or people will start having problems |

Im going to Birmingham on the 15th, ordered my tickets on Friday at 1200 and got, I thought at the time pretty good seats, £135, Block 16 row J.
I just looked for tickets now on Ticketmaster, same price, block 2, row D, opposite side 1 block nearer the stage.
What a Bummer, thats brought me down a bit. |
