Did he really play Computer Blue? Somewhat, right after Something In The Water, he was at the piano, & just sang the first verse, but yeah it was cool to hear him sing "til I find the righteous one, computer blue" especially right after Something In The Water because those 2 songs go hand in hand, so yes he did sing it but it wasn't a full fledged version of it.

Computer Blue!?!?!? I said on another thread he should be doing a full version of this with him and Donna on the guitar solo part. Man! Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

Prince and Oakland, something in that mix, uhhmm always right.
A big thank you to Allie from England via Oakland for making the ngiht that much better. There is nothing better than Prince starting to play Starfish and Coffee and being able to look over at a new friend, smile, get a knowing smile, of oh yeah, this is special.
And to Annya from Germany via Redwood City. New friends.
Oakland folks are the best. What a great crowd. What great eneregy and spirit.
Thanks to the girl who loaned me a pen to write a set list. The girl who reached over the barricade and grabbed a Fiji water for me.
Thanks Oakland for making a great show, all that much better.

I just gotta say, there is one thing you can be sure of when you go to a Prince concert: LOVE! You can really feel "The Love" radiating amongst all his fans all around you..... I sat next to a couple from Australia (we danced all night together) and met a girl in the ladies room that flew in from Atlanta... Wow!! that's love and i love it!

When I saw the sampler set it was fine for a few minutes out of a 2 hour show, but honestly I am surprised he's not bored with it by now My Legacy

There's no show tonight according to the staff members I talked to last night. They also didn't think there would be any more shows next week because the crew started breaking down the stage and removing the instruments. In fact, the Fox staff members were complaining because Prince had left the building and die hard fans next to the stage refused to leave...
Prince did state, however, that he would "be back sooner than you think..." "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

The guy next to me was there alone too. We talked the whole time. It was such a comfortable atmosphere. Even the ushers were giddy.

I saw the LA setlist before the show and that setlist is deceiving. If I was Your Girlfriend? I think he sang one line then moved onto another couple lines of some other song. He was jumping so fast through the songs, you could not keep up. I don't think they deserve to be listed. While he was doing this, he said, "You know how many hits I got?" It would wake people up and get them excited, but then he just buzzed through them. Frustrating. On the other hand, he chose other songs and drew them out into extra long funky spectacular jams, so that was good. Purple Rain got the full treatment and it was lovely. His voice was lovely all night, lots of crooning.

It wasn't that we refused to leave, we COULDN'T leave. The venue didn't turn on the lights for around 20 minutes after Prince left the stage, so no one on the floor left, so no one on the first level of the floor could get out. I don't know why they wouldn't turn the lights on if the show was over. Plus, about 10 or 15 minutes after Prince left the stage, all of the sudden securtiy at the barricade started freakin about cell phones being out and people taking pictures, and told everyone to put our phones away, so then we thought he was coming back out again. I've never been to a show where they left the lights off for 20 minutes after it was over...dumb.
Loved the show btw | |

There always seems to be some sort of extra drama attached to a Prince show... I thoroughly enjoyed the show, too. The biggest drawback to me was that the sound in the venue tended to boom and echo, overwhelming vocals when the full band was playing. Yeah I was bummed too, but I was determined to see "My Man" So I hopped on Bart all by myself and when I got outside the venue I kept asking "Anyone got an extra ticket" and of course evrybody was saying "We're looking too" so finally after about 40 minutes of this I was fortunate enough to meet a nice guy who answered "Maybe" he asked me if I was a cop a few times, then I made him an offer and he said: "Come on let's go in, you can pay me inside", this was about 8:50 pm. So we went in........(I was just as giddy as a schoolgirl realizing I had actually made it inside; before showtime even) Then I beelined it to the ladies room, after that i went to find my spot and I was fortunate again to find a chair stage level right next to the bar, right up against the railing with no-one in front of me. I couldn't believe it! ... I needed to pinch myself! (and this was a floor/standing ticket) I did not even have to leave my seat to order a drink. Awesome seat, awesome view of Prince, awesome fans all around me and awesome Prince musice performed live by the man himself. What else could a girl ask for? and I didn't even have a ticket, I had something better, I had faith! Oh, and did I mention the moon was full?
As far as the setlist is concerned, you can read other posts. I loved every second of it. Prince was in good spirits on this one..... He rocked out with the girls in the beginning and I went crazy when he sang "Do Me Baby" and I loved the funky, funky horns, "oh yeah bring back those horns Prince" Thank you Prince, thanks fans, thanks Oakland and "Glory be to the highest, thank you God!"

i belive the reason is the parking is right behind the venue for the artist and when the theater empty outs they can get trapped in there and there cars cant get out so its a way of letting him leave real quick if he wants to

Chaka Kahn sounded great at the Warfield a couple of years ago. And, of course, Prince knows the sound in some of these old venues... He's played 'em before. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato
