So, I'm hoping this Sunday show happens... But what are the odds that there is an after show/party Saturday?

New Parish in Oakland has a show, but it's possible it might be over in time to accomodate a late night after show. I saw Mos Def there and it went til after two, so it's a small possibility. But given the recent run of England shows and the LA date, my hopes aren't that high for a last minute aftershow. I still think Sunday is the best bet.

I called as well and got a similar, but arguably more encouraging response...

Thanks for keeping my (foolish?) hope alive, xMikeBx! lol It's a shame about the scalping, especially since the originally listed ticket prices were reasonable compared to last year's tickets for the DNA Lounge concerts.

Ha ha, my pleasure. I'm with you. Still hoping, but not sure what to make of all the ups/downs of the Ticketmaster page. I can't imagine that was listed with specific on-sale date/time and increased ticket prices without Prince's involvement at some point. Something must have gone down or is hopefully still being negotiated.

^Not sure what to make of the Ticketmaster fiasco either, but I agree about Prince's involvement. Maybe they're trying to negotiate a price and/or on-sale time that will discourage potential scalpers? Of course Prince could have just changed his mind about the Sunday show. lol Like you said, hopefully things are still in the works and nothing is off the table--although this waiting game is killing me! lol

.

I don't want to be a complete downer on the Saturday concert thread so I hope those of you who got tickets have a great time tomorrow night! Remember to post your reports here for us poor souls! cool

Definitely agree with LittleBear re: spreading positive vibes for everyone going tomorrow. I hope it's an amazing show. Prince seems to always feel inspired in the Bay, so I'm sure it's going to be awesome. Enjoy!

thru tixmaster?

Yes. At about 11:45pm after they went on sale. I tried about 50 times to get in probably, was looking for two tickets. I tried a few times for one ticket and that's when I got in. Probably some left over singles at the high price left. I think it would be way more fun to go with a friend, but I'm excited and I think I got a pretty good seat. (plus none of my friends would pay that much and I don't want to stand on the floor).

I was at my friend's house when we received the email about the show and tickets going on sale, so we both were trying to buy tickets at the same time. She was able to get 4 for her family, and I got 2 for my son and I!!! Then yesterday morning I logged into my Ticketmaster account and my order had been cancelled! I called TM, and they said that I was over the ticket limit. I was like WHAT? I only bought 2 tickets! They said I was over the 4 ticket limit with either my name, email, address, or credit card, and I told them NO WAY, I only bought 2 tickets! So I asked to speak with a supervisor. After waiting another 15 minutes on hold, she told me that my household went over the limit. Again, I said NO, I only bought 2 tickets, no one else in my family bought any other tickets!! She then told me that "household" means IP address!! So, because I happened to be at my friend's house when tickets were announced and went on sale, and because my phone was picking up her wifi, and because she had just bought 4 tickets, MY TICKETS WERE CANCELLED FOR GOING OVER THE LIMIT!! My friend and I are not related in any way. We don't share, in any way, the same name, address, email, phone number, credit card, or anything else. But on that particular night when tickets went on sale, we happened to share her wifi, so my tickets were cancelled. That is so messed up, and there's nothing I can do about it. I'm so upset, and so is my son!!! He's 15, so he couldn't see Prince at the DNA last year, so he was so excited to see him again! He last saw him when he was little on the Musicology tour!

So, if anyone has a spare 1 or 2 tickets, please please orgnote me--you'd be saving us!

Was anyone else at the Liv Warfield show tonight @ Sayers Club?? Prince totally shocked the hell out of everyone (but me) with his surprise cameo and impromptu "performace" on the keys.

Oakland, he's all yours now. sad

Hey, there is an element of trust involved. Paypal does have a reputation of siding with the buyer in disputes and refunding but there is no guarantee of that if you get ripped off. If its through ebay or something similiar you have proof of the item you expected and that you paid. So if you choose to go that route... put a very detailed description of what you are buying in the notes on the transaction. I have done this same type of thing for hockey tickets.. those only were about $100 total though. But I paid via paypal with the game date, teams, NHL and seat numbers in the details of the payment and he transferred the tickets to me within a few minutes and everything worked fine. That was someone who I met on reddit.

Good advice.

Yeah I bought Madonna tickets from someone in Texas once and paid her by Paypal. She mailed the tickets, I think. It was fine but a risk. I also bought a scannable printout ticket to see Green Day in the parking lot. And lots of Craigslist interactions. People are usually decent, these are mostly fans who care and share. I have never had a bad experience buying tickets secondhand. In fact, they have all been very good experiences and I had to trust. But I suppose there could be a bad egg in there. Good luck.

I know this is a long shot but if anyone is able to sell me two tickets... please text me at (630)747-0248. I missed out on the Saturday sale by what seems from what I read to be 10 minutes or so. And I literally sat at my computer refreshing the sunday show page on ticketmaster from 9 pm - 1 am Thursday night... got a tip to go to bed and be up by 9 am... so I did got up earlier than that and continued to refresh until the page disappeared. My wife has her hopes up about going but we can't afford the scalper prices.

I bought a concert ticket to another concert through Ebay using paypal and had no problem. The only real risk would have been if the e-ticket had not been good. You have more protection with the Ticketmaster ticket transfer than you would via an e-mail attachment. One org member just said on here they have an extra ticket. Good luck, farfunk!

I second that emotion. Prince's reputation is growing and it should be. It may be harder to get tickets but he deserves the adulation. So make him want to com back within the year!

He came onstage at the end of Liv's set and played the keys for a bit--none of which were his songs. Then he sat behind the dj booth for a while with some attractive lady; they seemed to be in really deep conversation lol he walked out around 3am.

Just got the email from Fox Theater:

THERE WILL BE ZERO TOLERANCE FOR THE USE OF CELL PHONES, CAMERAS OR AUDIO/VIDEO RECORDERS INSIDE THE VENUE. IF YOU ARE SEEN TAKING A PHOTO INSIDE THE VENUE, WE WILL HAVE TO KINDLY ASK YOU TO LEAVE. Yeah, the only problem with that is generally you pay them before they do the transfer. So someone could say send me the money through paypal and I'll transfer it... and then not do it.
