And there was me hoping Prince's message on stage was just regarding Manchester sad

'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

Much as I'd love to be wrong, I think it's a stretch to think "spring has sprung" has much to do with Prince still being here after all. Either that or it's very cryptic indeed.

And that for a P.R. person she is supposed to be.

When a spring springs it is kaput?!

Or what would a native speaker think?

Here's my take this tour was to promote the new album...yet to be released...on Saturday prince said we're taking a break, get the album out or on.. Then we'll be back...some of the album was played...they never come back on stage sooooo my thinking is the manager will stay with the artist whilst album is released so IF she's still in london maybe prince is? Haha I love all this maybe it's cryptic maybe it's not, truth is we'll never know till they want us too n then we'll probably miss it....I was so lucky in being there on Saturday and don't think ANY other show will top that but then this is prince he's capable of anything biggrin

My thoughts are..... That Prince will be doing the Festival Circuit this year, He's been here to promote the Album, but also to raise his profile again, The cost, logistics and work for his team to arrange a full tour might not apeal to them very much (And seems maybe isnt their strong point), if they sign for some festivals all the hard work is done, they turn up, perform and collect a fee.

.

Leeds and Reading might be a good shout, they paid The Libertines £1 Million i think for the two shows, so Prince surely could command more than this? Could explain why he did London shows and a couple up North?

.

Maybe V Fest or T In the Park?

.

Who knows, but i have a feeling we might see him again sooner rather than later to capitalise on his Revived popularity

...my money is on the "British Summer Time Festival" they started last year in Hyde Park....Bon Jovi headlined it in 2013.

Prince would fit the bill...the festival isn't for the hardcore music fans who head to Glasto or Reading/Leeds, but more of a family friendly sort of thing based on the traditional British summer (so its likely to rain! haha!)....Jovi put on a great show last year despite no Sambora, but the festival itself was naff. Despite being British themed there was a Mexican mariachi section, American burger stands, and the only beer you could get was Grolsch or Fosters, those two well know British beer brands! Plenty of room to dance and friendly crowd, but we were miles away from the stage and they had the obligatory "gold circle" at the front so no chance of getting near the stage anyway. Still, could make for one massive purple party if it happens biggrin

It's gotta be BST Festival reallyas you said, it's a 6 day festival over 2 weekends and only McBusted and Neil Young and Crazy Horse are confirmed headliners so far.

I see you mentioned Bon Jovi as the headliner there but they were only 1 of the 6 headliners, The Rolling stones played the 2 sat nights and JLS, Ray Davies and Lionel Richie headlined the other days. The Stones had a very different "Golden Circle" to Bon Jovi which stopped at stage centre so normal price tickets had a chance of getting to the front too, now that I would like again!

I was party to this story on Sunday evening. Apparently the venue were in talkswith Prince's camp. Nothing was confirmed as of Sunday. That was from a reliable source too.

Didn't Chic and Nile Rogers play the same day as Lionel? I seem to remember finding out about that after the event and being p*ssed off that I missed it!

I can't afford to go again so , selfishly, I'm not too fussed. I think, judging by the reports my gig (KOKO first show) was probably the worst value for money on the tour so far (£70 for 90 minutes and the 'basic' set list) and I think until they set out a proper structure it's alwAys going to be a lucky dip. The main problem for me has been the insistence on trying to squeeze 2 shows out of an evening...the first show and usually those who queue the longest are alwAys booted out 'early' once all of the boxes have been ticket and those who rock up later get the maximum possible time with a lot if rarities thrown in It was exciting, I enjoyed the thrill of the chase...but this represents the most expensive and shortest Prince show of my time seeing him. [Edited 2/23/14 2:25am]

you still moaning?! wink

Yep....let's just say I want a fair slice of the purple pie
lol So many rave reviews of many shows on this tour...curiously none mentioning the KOKO first show which I think, looking at the stats (price, length, song list, rarefied, encores) was Uncharacteristically on the light side. Come on - £70, 19 songs and 90 minutes compared to every other show...P was keeping it under lock and key until the celebrity second show. Did nobody else cringe when he had to come back on again because the stage manager coujdnt get people to leave after about 70 minutes?

I am with you, partly... I was one of those that got quite disappointed going to Montreux and catching the 2nd show... Though it was a semi ok show (overdoing the horns until it was cabaret-cheesy instead of funky) it was agreat disappointment to me for many reasons and I swore I would not travel to see him again until I knew he would not do that again.

Happen to live in London and was glad to get in for the first show at Koko after reading all the rave reviews of the other shows... And although it was the shortest, the most expensive and the least raved about concert its was still a pretty amazing concert in my view. Seeing Prince and the girls on top of their form in a small club was well worthy the q'ing and the money if you ask me, even other shows were even more fantastic.

Let's put our hope in a Brixton show before they leave UK smile

It was £70 for a small venue for 90 minutes right?

What was the average show length in 2007 at the O2?

Didn't the best tickets there sell for £200 plus?
