First show was two and half hours and it was awesome. If I wasn't going again tomorrow would have stayed but need to be reasonably fresh for queueing again !!

Have fun all who stayed on or have queued for show 2 !! smile

if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

There was no show 2. The security didnt have a clue. Although we were told they would let the others out 11 ish and Prince would be back 12-12:30. I waited in the rain, got in, paid £35. They were sweeping the floors and I was chucked out.I waited in another queue in the rain for an hour till the security got shirty and told us to clear the streets. Waited a bit longer showing them my ticket for the 2nd show, they told me to post it in for a refund. Great, frozen my bum off and spent a fortune on travel. £100 down. (and probably man flu).

They need to realize some people arent well. Ive got a dodgy blood circulation, my ears toes and fingers were BLUE. My stomache is eating itself at the moment from not eating properly so im in pain. I dont mind that to see Prince I did it. But when he doesnt come on? I dont think I can repeat it tomorrow. Ive spent my money on travel and ticket today, am I supposed to walk?Ill try. Lets hope the sun comes out.

This is so bad. It wa bad when they announced and cancelled show 3 at Koko but this seems worse. Everything seemed to be going so well with it being pre-sold tickets too. At least it looks like the main ticket payers got a decent length show and didn't get shafted for the announced second show.

RIP sad

Just these numbers alone, barely a couple of hundred queuing for tix on the door, Prince's glum look in the car, well it kind of says it all really.

.

It was probably a good gig still, he's a pro. Should have waited til the Apollo was free and had someone make their mind up. Tickets or queue with a set price.

.

All this uncertainty probably put tons of people off.

.

Not with this band configuration, but an artist of Prince stature should be selling out a night at far bigger venues than the academy.

There's something selfish in me that thinks so what? I Queued for ll hours for the first KOKO gig in Sunday and we were effectively booted out after 90 minutes to make way for a much longer set that was given to the toe-rags who just ambled up before the doors closed on the first gig. Instead of trying to milk this for every thing they can they should be charging the same price for one decent show per night..either ticket it all or tell those people who turn up after capacity that they are too late ...don't take their money and either rob them or rob the first show attendees.

I was embarrassed for him at KOKO when he had to come back on because people refused to leave but that what happens if you try to take advantage

Yeah left it well too late, Plus it was announced by Kiran, I'd imagine alot of casual fans wouldnt know to follow her, plus the fact it was tickes and had "sold out" with a limited amount on the door probabaly put people off just going down in the first place thinking they simply wouldnt be able to get any which resulted in there being over 100 left on the door. Its a shame but if its true those people being let in tonight for free then i think that was a bargain.

Awesome, awesome show but organisation...what organisation? My take is you can announce a 2k capacity show in London (population best part of 10 million) at short notice and make a decent fist of filling it but attempting it in a city with a population of around 0.5 million was just stupid!!!!
From the moment the tweet went out, events were never going to pan out well, no matter what course events took.

Actually I don't think this^^^^ is the issue, homie....

The problem is P and company accouncing a second show while the other show is still happening....On a Friday night???.....This is when people are already out and about in MANCHESTER, not London where u can pull off such a stunt....

I don't care who u r...U can't do that on short notice and ONLY announce it on Twitter....lol

P should have left after the first packed show and kept it moving....

Bottom line: Prince can sell out just about any venue in the UK....But he has to give people notice for LATE NIGHT shows....If u r going to do a second show, just announce it the same day that tickets r going on sale for the first gig...It's just that simple...

HUGE error on P's part....But he'll survive...lol...

I agree, Kiran is British! she should be giving P the correct advice, it's completely obvious this would never work outside of London, even that would be touch and go. People in UK don't live on twitter, even some orgers who want all his info desperately haven't even started a twitter account!
I say get your ass back to london for a few fabulous ticketed sell out venues and get some good press to negate this mad stupid night. And make bloody sure the same shite doesn't happen tonight! Manchester deserves better razz
