Yeah cant see anything tonight, I'd imagine the Press conference/announcement will be streamed somewhere and he might play a couple of tracks with Lianne La Havas acoustic maybe? If he's touching down in the evening cant see there being much time for sound checks and what not after the press conference. unless he plays in the early hours, which it is Prince and anything is a possibility.

As much as you selfish Prince fans want him to get off the plane and rush over to East London..it ain't gonna happen..so get used to it.
I am sure tomorrow is another day and everything will be revealed.

I'm going to queue outside Sugar Hut tonight, just in case he flies to Stansted and fancy's a bit of Brentwood hospitality this evening.

Twitter from Seetickets: Big Festival, Big Announcement, can you guess where and who?

How's it selfish to wonder if something that we've been told to expect today is going to happen today...
Go back to your perfect life and let us discuss in peace. Cheers.

Prince normally flies into signature at Luton. .

My guess is he will play a few smaller shows and announce a headline slot at Glastobury. I would love him to play the Royal Albert Hall and a night or two in the Turbine hall of the Tate Modern.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
None of which will happen, he won't sell out the RAH with 3rdEyeGirl and whoever played the turbine hall of the Tate Modern :/

And this is Prince..since when did anything happen when he says it would.
As for perfect life..hardly...I'm just realistic and happy for an announcement when it happens..the more you assume..the less happy you will be when it doesn't go your way!

Kraftwerk played a series of sold out shows at the Tate last year

Who probably used the surroundings to full effect..can't see what use that would be to Prince.

This festival announcement from seetickets probably has something to do with the Leeds and Reading festivals announcing more acts (possibly headliners tonight at 7pm) don't think this one's Prince related im afraid

.....what tv shows do you think P could appear on? The One show? Loose Women? Alan Titchmarsh Show? Graham Norton?
I wonder if Beverley Knight knows where the gigs will be..... [Edited 2/3/14 9:17am]

I love a bit of pointless speculation. I'm thinking announcement for Glastonbury and The Shepherds Bush Empire on Wednesday night. .
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Indeed they did, and it was spectacular. Mind you, a Kraftwerk show is like an art installation in itself, so they'd be much more suitable for a show there than Prince.
We probably shouldn't get our hopes up for an announcement or show today, unless he is planning to perform on the baggae carousels at Terminal Five or something. My guess is that something was definitvely planned for today, but it got bumped back by the activities in NY yesterday. Such is life.... but it won't kill us to wait another day, right?
We can also dream about what these 'iconic' venues might be... wouldn't it be great if he could return to the site of his first London triumph... The Lyceum Theatre! (Which he played on the Dirty Mind Tour in June 1981, fact fams).
Come to think of it, I'd be happy with other theatre sized venues, like the Hammersmith Apollo, Brixton Academy, indigo2, Koko.... should strike the right balance between intimacy and availability for the fans. It's been too long since you've had your ass kicked properly:

Sorry if already posted and to add to the speculation but the rolling stones review of the listening party says "a network appearance and the active launch of a new single, a few weeks ahead of a U.K. tour all seem to indicate that 2014 could mark a return to the spotlight for Prince".

Probably makes more sense. Graham Norton records on Wednesday night. Jonathan Ross on Friday I think. .

"it seems a little lazy in my opinion, probably not on Prince's behalf, as it is his management who will arrage the shows" You are the one who is too lazy to go to London and see him. It's not a regular tour. If you haven't noticed, he doesn't do regular tours and good for him! Once again, you sound like you are entitled to see Prince in your town. Has he ever played Manchester before? I wouldn't hold my breath. Live in a major city if you want to see top notch entertainment. I live in NYC and he hasn't done a real Prince show there in years so I got my ass up to Ct to see him in December. It was awesome and easily worth the trip. Either travel a bit or don't see him. I never realized there were so many winers over there in The UK!

Nah, I don't get this new song. Maybe a grower but I doubt it, same with quite a few of the releases over the last year but there have been a few gems too let's not forget.
So the announcement announcing that there would be an announcement got the actual announcement date wrong?
