The problem is though there is only so much Hype they can create with the tiny bit of hope they have given people, because its only going to be the same die hard fans who are checking for news and things, a casual fan wont be arsed until something is announced or they see a poster or advert,

He isnt a mainstream artist and wont be relevant to a large majority, if they want to promote a full UK tour something needs to be announced, young folk wont be too fussed, and the older one's dont have time for the is he isnt he games.

Prince was due to play in London after Lisbon last August. It didn't work out. But he was there, and some official 3EG photos were released.

Then:

Prince tweets that London would be next.

Prince's manager does hype it up.

Prince's PR representative does hype it up.

Prince's drummer does announce it on her site.

The astral traveling was due to end on January 7th.

The media was all over it.

It's not something created "in their own minds".

rumours=total BS lol as its common knowledge that Metallica have an exclusive UK festival date at Knebworth in July and besides that we all know how Michael Eavis feels about rock/metal

Well the Hype they tried to create has well and truely died now with his actual fans, seemed pretty pointless, terrible PR

Prince doesn't give a crap about his fans... I'd be glad to see him live someday but in the meantime during the past year I've seen so many other amazing artists that have earned the respect of their fans by playing for them and satisfying their urge to see them perform live rather than just creating false hype. Some of these musicians make Prince look like an amateur, not to say anything about his bullshit PR stunts or lack thereof...At this stage he's probably losing fans, and that's what he deserves for treating them like they don't exist. The longer this goes on the lamer he appears in the eyes of his fans... Sorry Prince, but you need to show a little more respect and get your ridiculous act together!

Again, I feel the need to reiterate the fact that Prince hasn't said anything about a tour. There were a couple of cryptic tweets from people associated with him that MAY have been alluding to some UK shows, but nothing certain, and no date was ever set. Nothing has been announced.

He may well be in the process of booking a tour, but it takes time, it can't be done overnight. Maybe he will play some shows this year, but we aren't even done with January yet. Maybe he wants to finish the album with 3rdEyeGirl first? Maybe he wants to get the release and promotion all sorted before a tour? Who's to say?

Just BE PATIENT, seriously. When he's ready to tour, he'll announce something. He hasn't yet. He doesn't owe you anything in the meantime.

I work in the events industry (as an organiser) Prince will have very little to do with it aside from agreeing to dates/fee's, it will all be down to a promotions agency who arrange the tour alot of the time, maybe its them dragging their feet with it all and they cannot annouce it till they get the go ahead from all parties/contracts signed and things.

0. I've been dying to see him for years. I couldn't get to Hop Farm in '11, and I was only 16 in '07 so London wasn't an option. Believe me, I understand the excitement and joy at the premise of Prince finally doing a UK tour, but I don't understand this blaming of Prince, and accusations that he has "let down his fans" because he hasn't announced any tour dates yet. Why are people so impatient?

A Daily Mirror article plus a couple of tweets does not equal an official tour announcement. If people got hyped up over that and are now feeling disappointed, that's their own fault, nobody else's.
