On a serious note though, money wouldnt be an issue, A promoter fronts the money (ie.. AEG) Prince would get a set fee per gig, the promoter sets the ticket prices generally, depending on Prince's fee and their outlay they would then choose what they want to charge to then make their profit, how it would work for a full tour anyway normally.

yeah but with sponsorship the sponsor is just giving money in exchange for advertising which covers the tour costs, so the ticket price can be lower and the costs of the tour will still be covered. and who better than mcdonalds, one of the biggest most well known brands in the entire world to sponsor one of the biggest and most well known musicians on prince.org?

McDonalds aren't exactly the most credible brand.. I'm not sure any artist would want to be associated with that image, but especially not Prince. He's a vegetarian.

I am really puzzled why someone would raise expectation amongst fans and then let them down

Prince hasn't said a single thing about a UK tour. Neither have his people. There were a couple of cryptic tweets that people read as "Prince will announce a UK tour in the next few days!" and now people are pissed that he hasn't.

The only people who said anything about a UK tour were the media. Surely we all know to take anything the media says with a pinch of salt.

Actually I started this thread because @3rdEyeGirl answered a direct question about a full US tour by stating that London would be the first stop. If the source was the (rag) media I would have dismissed it as irrelevant.

Sure, but "First stop London" doesn't tell us anything. It doesn't even mean they're playing a show in London, nevermind a UK tour. Added to that, they never mentioned a date for their stop in London.

Some people are acting like Prince himself has said "I will be announcing a UK tour tomorrow!" and then hasn't.

His Management also tweeted the Article on her twitter page fromt he Mirror, along with a picture of Prince and caption saying "Uk are you ready" or something along those lines

Aye defo not all fantasy, Prince's Manager's PR guy has been sharing Videos and Images of Prince and 3rd Eye for months now at least 5-10 times a day, why would he be doing that for an artist who isnt really mainstream in the UK, my guess is something will be announced this week, watch this space
