It's hard to keep things interesting and mysterious on the 'net... I like how Prince continues to keep people guessing. It's random and ephemeral--catch it while you can, until it gets taken down... It's a reminder of the temporality of the 'net, and reflects his own emphasis on live shows (rather than releases).
And it re-creates that "insider" type vibe of the fan days of old... when you heard about the new song from someone in the know... Oh sure this may likely be picked up and more widely distributed in the days to come... but for now, it reminds me of the "BedIScream" AOL messenger days.
