My friend has a friend that's working there tonight, told 'em to sneak in a few photos if he possibly can but I know what Prince is like especially at these smaller afterparties.

Standing in the line now looks to be 2-300 waiting. There's no doubt it's on, big electronic sign flashing "Prince playing here tonight".

I've now been to six aftershows. Nothing previous comes close to what I've just had the privilege of witnessing.

Highlight was a real fired up version of Mutiny. Other highlight was a full length jazzy version of Paisley Park with just kick drum and keys with Prince's voice.

Other songs in no particular order...

Insatiable
Scandalous
Adore
Jam of The Year
Stratus
Days of Wild

Girls with Andy McKee singing Toto's Africa, Bee Gees Emotions, etc.

Lads more, almost two and a half hours, finished just before 5am...head still buzzing and have an hour drive home!!

Totally amazing. Just got home and agree Mutiny was the absolute wildest live performance I have EVER witnessed!

Just got back to hotel and I can barely keep my shit together. I danced all night, at the concert in purple circle, to Rashida who I must say spins some wicked tracks and at the MOTHER OF ALL AFTERSHOWS!

I have lost my voice completely, no joke, not a sound is coming out now after scream and yelling all night.

Mutiny was definitely the stand out for me tonight. This aftershow has been the peak of the tour for me so far, I really don't think this can be topped in Melbourne. I would love to be proved wrong.

It was full version after full version...

We were also treated to The Bird (again, was played at the main show) and Jungle Love, long versions...

Full version of Glamorous Life...

$

Song of The Heart

Elisa also sang More Than Words by Extreme with Andy McKee on guitar (as well as Emotions and Africa!) Her voice was so sweet. Liv is a real powerhouse and Shelby can raise the roof with hers, but the three songs with Andy were Elisa's big chance to shine and she was amazing.

No, nowhere near it. Maybe 600 people, capacity according to the venue's website is 2000. There was plenty of space, nobody was turned away.

The venue is about 15km out of the city, and hopeless to get to from the main concert by public transport. If you weren't driving you couldn't get there by any means other than taxi...and if you did go, there would be no way home for a few hours till the trains started, or taxi again. If you had a car or taxi, probably 15-20 mins from main show. I was driving, fortunately...I live 50kms south of the aftershow venue, across the other side of the city!

Correct, there were maybe 20% empty seats in Gold around the lower and upper tiers. There were a lot of purple circle seats empty (the $350 ones, not the tables next to the stage)...one section behind the circle of the band had maybe 20 people but sat around a hundred.

But you wouldn't know it from the reaction of the crowd. Certainly where I was sitting was much livlier than the firsct concert last week. They made a great noise and hardly sat down at all.

im amazed any were sold out purely by the cost of the tix

plus its rather vulgar having the "look at me im rich" seated tables at a gig...

but sounds like a good gig..just saw the setlist

Its great to see Prince unleash these performances on the Australian public after doing this type of thing in Europe and America for years.

Hopefuly Melbourne gets its ass kicked next.

That is the kind of show I want to see. Next time he's in London I'm gonna skip the arena show and go straight for the aftershows, I've been to 5 Prince aftershows (there was one where he didn't show up) and they always are ridiculously good.
