You guys have no idea!!

It was TOTALLY INSANE. The type of show I'm sure Prince absolutely loves doing. I felt like I was LIVING the nightclub First Avenue scenes in Purple Rain. The crowd were awesome.

After Princes last but two songs I moved to the back of the room near the soundboard guy and just watched everyone still going hard. Arms up swinging to Prince's every move. Still 100% full of energy.

Still buzzing!

I wish I could live the Mutiny set again. Awesome!!

I just want to add that Shelby was awesome too. In the starting pieces some people were phoneviding the show and Shelby announced that they would party on "Til' the Sun Came Up" if everyone would put their cell phones away and respect the performers.

She made a quip about the only reason they wouldn't keep their promise was if there was still some "Steven Spielberg" wannabe in the crowd. To their credit the whole crowd respected this and the show just completely changed to a higher gear.

The thing that made it Purple Rain movie scene like was Prince's performance of the two classic Time pieces Jungle Love and The Bird. I swear if there had been 80's costumes and hairstyles I might have been completely transported there.

It was truly mind blowing.

Over 2 hours where the crowd didn't miss a beat, the performers gave of their talent in generous measures and the cheering, clapping and jubilation just didn't let up till the very end.

I truly hope the performers enjoyed it as much as I and I'm sure the crowd did, and that Brisbane can become the Mecca for future top shelf after parties.

SENSATIONAL, MARVELLOUS, TREMENDOUS don't even begin to describe how I still feel smile

One final amazing part of the night was DJ Rashida's awesome lead in to the jam. I swear there were so many amazing grooves she put out there with a few real standout beats that made me wish I had Shazam on my phone.

The atmosphere and vibe were her doing and the funky beats leading into Prince tracks and then the aftershow was done with a fine touch and great sense of a master DJ guide....

Thanks to DJ Rashida too smile

Remember that comment I made last weekend about having just had the best musical night of my life? That was NOTHING COMPARED 2 last night!!!!!!! We didn't get home until 6 am. The main show was better than last week, no sound problems and an incredible vibe from P and the NPG along with the (smaller) crowd. We could tell early on that Prince was in the mood for a party. Then we went to the af...tershow at Eatons Hill Hotel (great venue) where he played for over 2 hr. It was better than last aftershow and better than the main show earlier in the night. It had such a great atmosphere feeling like one big purple family. P and the band made it clear they were in for a party and the crowd responded. No other artist could keep a crowd that excited until nearly 5 am in the morning. The crowd forgot how tired they were and were clapping, dancing and singing to every word of every song. In between encores they were chanting like it was a football game. During the last song Prince asked for the house lights to come on. It incredible to see the crowd going off with that energy after having already danced for hours. Nobody cared that they could be seen clearly as they danced and sang and enjoyed every last second being in the room with Prince and the NPG. It was clear to everyone in the crowd and in the band as they finally left the stage that we'd just been part of something really special. Even long time fans like me were blown away by the man's talent and his ability to keep a crowd's excitement going all night. I heard someone on the way out saying excitedly "I didn't realise Prince was so BRILLIANT!" All of us supposedly "Prince experts" felt the same I think. Thankyou to Prince and the NPG, the a purple people in the audience and to my Lisa S Young for making it a night that I will remember forever!!!!!! O{+>

I've been to six aftershows now, across three decades, three countries and two continents. Every time I've left saying, wow that was great, that was amazing, that was brilliant, that was the best ever. But you know what, I have never in my life experienced anything like that show last night. The energy of the crowd was amazing, we just couldn't stop...and Prince was almost possessed...the energy he had after playing almost 3 hours at the main show was nothing short of a miracle.

You know when you leave a Prince concert you always think to yourself, I want more...well, not last night. He gave us it all and we all left knowing that if he gave us any more he would've done some real damage to us all.

I've heard hundreds of bootlegs of other aftershows...and the set list and energy of last night really was The One. Utterly, utterly amazing. The more I think about it and the more I reflect on it...I really have never heard him better.

If you ever get the chance to go to an aftershow....Go. Don't worry about lining up in the cold for hours (and it was cold, even in Brisbane!) You might, just might, get the chance to witness something even a tenth as good as last night, and it'll all be worth it, trust me.

I just wish there had been tickets. This one would've gone in a gold frame, it would've been worth a fortune!

Without hesitation - One of the best nights of my life last night. Front row of the aftershow - an aftershow that even his band members are labelling "historic" etc. Have had 1 hr sleep, played my own gig this morning, and am still on Cloud 9 from last night. Epic. Prince is a freak of nature, that's the only way one can put it.

I am very happy for you Aussies. You are really getting some amazing shows. However, I am confused as to why Prince can't seem to do aftershows in the U.S. anymore. I went to the NJ/NYC leg in 2010-11 and the only aftershows were for invited guests only with the exception of the Feb. 7th aftershow at the Darby (which was fantastic from what attendees reported), but I was back in Chicago by then. I just don't understand why we don't get this kind of treat. But I am looking forward to the boots from this show. Can't wait to hear Mutiny.

I was loving her set, so many good tunes ones I knew and a lot I didn't. She kept the party going and got everyone hyped and ready for P. I will defenitely be going to see her on Friday in Melbourne.

I'm not entirely sure, but it could have something to do with the fact that here in Sydney we are on a first name basis with Prince. He told us so. He wouldn't just say that would he? Surely not!

I've seen a tweet from Rashida earlier today saying she's not spinning at the gig being advertised in Melbourne - possibly a venue cashing in and playing her TripleJ set from Saturday night in Australia or some downloads off her website.

I do hope I'm wrong for those in Melbourne

I've been a fan for 30 yr but isolated so much by living in Australia. Knowing him on record and online is one thing. Truly understanding how great he is live is another. I knew what he was capable of in theory but I hadn't ever seen him at his best, with a great crowd in a small venue before. I feel like I understand the expression "tear the roof off this place" now. It felt like his talent was too much for the venue and almost too much for his fans to cope with. Mind blowing makes more sense now too. Wow!

Yeah I just saw that later on after posting, gutted really it would have been good to see her play again. The gig had been advertised for a couple of weeks now so this was before Triple J and you could purchase tickets through Moshtix. They have said show cancelled due to schedule, not really sure what that means. It's at the end off tour which has seen them out and about for a few weeks now so maybe have decided to head home. Could be poor ticket sales so not worth playing, tickets were only $16 though. Oh well fingers crossed for a Melbourne after show.

I've now been to six aftershows. Nothing previous comes close to what I've just had the privilege of witnessing. Highlight was a real fired up version of Mutiny. Other highlight was a full length jazzy version of Paisley Park with just kick drum and keys with Prince's voice. Other songs in no particular order... Insatiable Scandalous Adore Jam of The Year Stratus Days of Wild Girls with Andy McKee singing Toto's Africa, Bee Gees Emotions, etc. Lads more, almost two and a half hours, finished just before 5am...head still buzzing and have an hour drive home!!

Oh. Dear. Now feeling slightly sick at not making the effort to go. Damn neutral

Oh no - I am so depressed today - having read all the reviews. I went to both Brizzy shows - and the Sat night one was fantastic. We then heard at the concert about the after show - but had no idea where Eatons was - or how to get there. The BEC staff were not good explaining where it might be - and with no Brisbane Refedex in the car (or GPS) we had no idea how to get there. My friend and I are both from Gold Coast so not familiar with Brissy at all.

But I do wish I had made more of an effort - found a servo or something to ask - I am so mad at myself today.

I trully am.

I wish I had found out about the aftershow before leaving home, then I would have been more organised.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing eh?

But I know I shoudl be glad to have seen two very different Prince concerts as many never even get to see one...............but I am still crying buckets !!!!!neutral

I was in the middle of the line outside and when we got to the door the ticket price was already $100 meaning or at least implying that 500 had been counted before us some time ago (assuming the ones counting were honest). The line behind us therefore had anywhere from 300-500 people.

The venue by my estimation had anywhere from 800-1000 people in that case (assuming the count of 500 had entered for $50 before us was honoured).

I dont know what numbers were at the Sydney afterjam but that was ticketed so numbers would be available.

It wasn't a tiny event but it was good that it remained small and everyone who wanted to be there got in. Some (drunk) guy in front of us said he wouldn't have cared if the price was $1000. And I know that we got infinitely more for our time than that even.

Any true fan who missed this is right to feel remorse at not doing more to have been there. It was just totally something else.

Like someone said above, Prince's talent is other worldly. The small fanatic and appreciating crowd is just another instrument he has gained mastery over and Prince entertained us with his complete and mesmerising control of all the instruments at his disposal, the musical ones, the band, and the crowd.

It was a total mind f*ck!

I'm still in awe of some of the most basic things he did like starting the jam off with the bassline to We Part Hearty with his back to us. I can still feel the awesomeness of that alone.

The only thing I wish we had experienced even more would have been to have eye contact with him. With his dark glasses on there was a barrier or veil to an even more amazing experience. But such is his talent, that even shielded like so he shines so bright that he had the power to enthrall us.

It was very very special.

Full song! every verse, extended ending with crowd participation.

Just drumbeat (only kick drum I think), Andy McKee on acoustic guitar, may have been a tiny bit of keys, can't remember, but Prince sang the whole song in a very jazzy tone and the crowd sang every line with him. I've never heard it live, and it was startlingly good.
