Wow Amazing. Looks like you got every song he has played so far? Hope we get the same plus more in Melbourne for the final show. Sounds like security thought it was all over as well if they were letting people walk around freely.

It looks like you lucky fans got a great show. I'm jealous of that setlist.

You know I felt like the crowd started off strong, and then lost it for a bit and only came back good when he played the SUPER well known songs. People in my section (20) were hardly singing along and sat down most of the time. Party poopers!

I was skeptical of how well attended this show would be...with suspicions rising when it surprisingly easy to get amazing tickets in section 5 right at the tip of the symbols arrow. Any such concerns were unfounded as it was an energetic, appreciative crowd with the usual healthy mix of old & new shcool I noticed at the previous Sydney shows. Loved the setlist...great guitar work...and the ultimate experience was when my wife and I simply wandered down to the floor to see what the stage was like up close and wouldn't you belive it....Prince comes back for 3 more encores! This time we were amongst a group of hundreds hovering around the stage amazed at our luck! The whole 'np pics no phones' policy was goooonnne as we pretty much all instinctively captured Prince from a metre away singing Days Of Wild, She's Always in my hair and the closer of IIWYG. Amazing experience.

Well I hope all that amazing footage *ahem* appears out there somewhere...

Where abouts were you? I was in row F! The people in front of me spent a lot of time sitting down...yet they had homemade Prince shirts on! Did you make it down to the front of the stage for the encores?

I wasnt there to dance....i was there to record the show call ....hang on that's not right.

I was there to dance... dancing jig excited dancing jig

The good thing about the encore was that all the seat warmers had left the building loser so only the freaks on this side were left and the enegry in the arena was electrifying - more so than the main show.

He should ditch those bar seats at the front and open it up. Better to have that energy at the front of the stage.

Days of Wild made my night woot!

It was amazing, unbelievable!! During She's Always In My Hair I was at the front of the stage, directly facing him and he pointed the mic at my face OMG. I was so tempted to whip out my phone and start taking photos, but I resisted that urge because I didn't want to piss him off biggrin

It got a bit crazy as well with security with the woman who casually walked up on stage up to Prince.

Did you guys see the chick climb up on stage at the end and steal one of the drumsticks from Shelby's precussion set up?! Security jumped on her, not sure if they got it off her, but poor form outright stealing something off stage. If you are given it then awesome, but raiding the stage, come on Aussies! Jeez.

Yeah, Prince looked a little shocked at first. She put her hands on him....grabbed his arse or something. He got the backing vocalists to come over and get between himself and the clearly "tired and emotional" woman on stage. He said something like "where's security?!" - but with a smile on his face as he said it. Shelby and the others where laughing too. I nearly got knocked down by a couple of Prince's security guys heading to the stage.

Overall it was a fan-fucking-tastic show. What a great end to the Sydney run. I was sitting in section F in the purple reserve when the lights came up and all the casuals headed off to avoid the traffic. A security guy come by at one point and said "come on...shows over guys", but I wasn't moving...everything was still plugged in and powered up...I don't go until the speakers get disconnected!

A guy just near me said to his girlfriend, who clearly didn't want to go, "He's not coming back!" - less than two seconds later the crowd started screaming and we got mister Prince tearing up the bass. Of course I immediately jumped the rope into the Purple Circle and got right up to the stage...great to watch Prince play up close again.

All in all, I wanted Prince to play some bass....I wanted "Mountains" again...I wanted "She's Always in my Hair"....I wanted "If I was You Girlfriend"...and he delivered.

His guitar playing was killer too. You could tell he was really feeling it. Great stuff. I was worried I'd be a bit depressed after the last show, but Im just glad I got to see it.....glad I didn't leave early too...not that I ever would.

Hope you all had as a great a time as I did...sounds like ya did.

Wave the wild sign high y'all.

PS. forgive any typos...I just got home and haven't slept since the show ended

Yeah, damn right. I don't like people jumping up on stage like that. Its incredibly selfish....I mean, we'd all like to be up there. All it does make it less likely that we'll get those kinds of cool encores for the hardcore fans...if every time he does it some fruitcake jumps up and grabs something.

The girl that stole the drumsticks was right near me, totally poor form. You don't steal from the NPG haha! Also Prince seemed to be in a very good mood, which was nice! Every time he came near our section though I felt bad because only half the people were up and dancing...

Nah, I didn't think there'd be an aftershow since the main show ran so long. It was just a combination of being hyped up from the show, not wanting my W2A Prince tour experience to end, and the fact that I had to be up pretty early to get back home (I stayed at a Motel near the arena and had to travel back home by train this morning). Strangely I'm still not sleepy - I haven't been hit by the wall of tiredness yet...I'm expecting it soon though.

You gotta stay around for a while after lights come on....even if its just to see him ride his bike!

Anyway, I really do feel for ya. Look on the bright side though...I enjoyed the last 2 encores enough for both of us wink

I forgot to mention the improvement in the sound for the this concert. I was down at floor level for both the second and third shows. At the second show there were times I could hardly hear Prince's guitar at all. There were no such problems last night ( for me anyway). They'd obviously taken time to rectify some of the previous sound problems.

I didn't go to the other two concerts, but for me at first Prince's guitar was all over the place, like to the point where the sound was piercing. I was on the side near the piano so that might've just been my position in the stadium, but the issue seemed to fix itself later thank God!
