Still, 2 tickets with all fees and postage (you gotta have a proper ticket!) cost £160. Then there's just the £10 for petrol for the 60 mile round journey. Cheaper than a return flight to Geneva a couple of years back and cheaper than the day trip to Arras last year. Definitely cheaper than last years trip to Belgium! "Still Crazy 4 Coco Rock"

So £70 was not too much after all?

Some shitty Madonna concert I went to in 2003 (never again) had a £25 booking fee. I think it's a percentage of the ticket price as I suppose the ticket companies need to make some money. I think Ticketmaster were forced to incorporate the booking fees in the advertised prices so not to surprise you at the end.
I do however begrudge paying £2 for a PDF printable ticket. It costs them absolutely nothing to send that by e-mail. Most e-tickets are free.

Transport options back to London:
(Trains - no good as the last one is at 22.30, who knows if they'll put on any extra trains on the Sunday night??)
I just called the Big Green Coach company and they're looking into providing a service leaving at 23.30 (from festival site) on the Sunday night.
They'll be confirming this by Monday (or sooner)...You can't buy a single, so you'll have to buy a return coach ticket which costs £24.

Outrageous pricing, but hell it's Prince! Been getting withdrawl symptoms since 2007/O2.
This'll be my first concert I after I get married. It had to be Prince. Awesome.

That's weird as the last Prince show I went to (final night and aftershow at O2) was the last show I saw before I got married....in fact it was an unofficial stag do as we flew to the States the following week to get married out there! One of my last nights of "freedom" was spent with his Purpleness...good memories! www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

I like your style sir. I'm currently engaged in a long-running campaign to make the other half see the light and recognise the glory that is Prince. Almost there. This should seal it nicely!

Just a little travel info for those not familiar with the area.
The nearest train station is Paddock Wood, which is about a 30min walk from the Hop Farm. At the moment the last train is 22:30 with the first train Monday morning at 5:40. My guess though is that they will put an extra last train or two on at about midnight (they seem to have done this for the Fri and Sat shows)...I'd be very surprised if they don't do this.
The Hop Farm itself is in the heart of the Kent countryside so dont expect to wander into a late night McDonalds after the show. Paddock Wood itself is a quiet place to so there probably wont be anywhere open to hole up in until morning.
And if you're driving the roads aren't very accomodating, there's no motorway or dual carriageway that leads to the Hop Farm so traffic queues might be a bit of an issue. www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

Thanks to Lloyds TSB's incompetence, I have to wait 24 hours until I can use my card on that website again. Here's to hoping it doesn't sell out then.

I'm there too and so excited! Not posted on here for aaaaages - after 21 nights at the O2 in fact. But stoked to be going to this! Have you had your + signs today?

I'm sure your lovely lady will be swayed. My missus wasn't a fan but she went to a few of the O2 shows with me that summer and she was persuaded in the end. You just can't fail to be entertained by the man, no matter how cold hearted you are. She has a few of his favourites on her MP3 player now. I even managed to convince her to get married in purple!
Congrats on the wedding to, hope it all goes well. www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

I just can't believe he's doing this.
My birthday is 5th July so this is a perfect pressie for me.
Have booked a hotel in Maidstone I'm really hoping they put on shuffle buses. There still seems to be rooms there.

Thanks very much indeed mate.

That's cool. I doubt very much they'd do shuttle buses to Maidstone its a very rural location, you may be best off camping. Also try the Ramada Jarvis thats not far.

The coach return ticket is cheap but im afraid theres gonna be traffic going up there and what if Prince is still performing after 11:30? In Arras i think he didn't get off until midnight or quarter to 12 if i can remember, someone can clarify me on this, but i know it was late. I was thinking more catching the train from Victoria station....but can't think what to do afterwards yet! If the curfew at hop farm is 11pm then the coach will be great for the return back to London. FUNKNROLL! "February 2014, wow". 'dre.

Thanks for the travel tips DaveT - I think I'll try and grab that coach, or cross my fingers for some extra late trains.
