Just noticed that the "Sunday" tab in the lineup section has disappeared. I think that they are editing the special guests and they will be up soon..... Fingers crossed no Larry. He kinda ruined Wercheter last year. I personally think it's better to have different styles of music and let Prince handle the funk. I really am gonna be disappointed if Larry is there doing countless encores. He's welcome to play bass for P but not do an hour and half set PLEASE... And as for Mint Condition....

I very much doubt it about Larry playing as he isn't really known here in the UK so no-one would really know who it was. No offence to Larry but he has never been marketed or sold over here!

Well check this out from the

EUROPE 2011 - PRINCE TOUR thread

3 July - Hop Farm Festival, Kent, England (confirmed)

Ps. According to Larry Graham's website he will be playing with Prince in Kent.

8-10 July North Sea Jazz 2011, Rotterdam, The Netherlands (confirmed)

Ps. According to Larry Graham's website he will be playing with Prince in Rotterdam.

I wonder if he will add a couple of nights in London?

He should return to the o2.

Not everyone is interested in festival gigs and I reckon he would sell out a few nights.

c'mon Princey!

Hop Farm advertised it as his only UK show in 2011, so unless they've got the wrong end of the stick and are using incorrect language it would sound he would be breaking contract.

New Hop Farm names to be announced early this week for those who are going...

Unless they use the word exclusive appearance and have an exclusivity CONtract with the artist then often it can be a ploy to try and sell tickets. Many times i've seen it stated that "this (or these) gig(s) will be my/our/his/hers only gigs (insert current year)" only for more shows to pop up later in the year.

In the case of Hop Farm, i do not think Prince will perform at any other UK festival in 2011.

As far as inddoor concerts...who knows, its anyone's guess, especially given the way Prince tends to announce at extremely short notice these days.

not going to happen though. outside of the states he usually just plays one city apart from big countries where you might get 2 or 3. the states are massive and he lives there and has a big potential audience, thus touring states is worthwhile. touring the uk for artists of that size is unnecessary

plus it's up to the promotor to put together a proposal to the artist. the artist doesn't go out to ask someone to book him upteen dates in the uk, people go to him with offers

I got mine!

I don't but I like the concept of thousands of purple wellies in Kent.

How many of you are taking little uns, I am brionging my 5 year old and I wondered if we can get them all running around together. Hopefully he will stay awake to see Prnce play and wont come away singing "written in the stars...."

I am quite looking forward to the others in the line-up though. Granted thay are not ion the style of Prince but all seem pretty good acts and genuinaly good muscians. Imelda May rocked Glasto' a couple of years ago and Dutch uncles sound like a combination of Weezer and Coldplay, liking!

Basically it is a chance to sit in a feild all day listening to music and feeling 21 again, nobody should be dissing that!! I ONLY WANT TO MEET THE POSITIVE PEOPLE!

I played a gig with them, maybe I can get on the bill too....

On a serious note I do hope they announce a few established acts, otherwise this festival is going to have a shit atmosphere.

Couldn't afford the real Jamiroquai then.

Prince really better be on song because the 3rd is ridiculously weak and ill thought out thus far. Reeks of being done last minute with no prior planning.

I have to say that I was more excited about going before I saw the lineup for the day. I am sure that I will still enjoy it though. A friend of ours Lisa (Lisa10 aka Florescent) is bring her 2 children. I think her son is around 5 yrs old too.

Should be a nice day out. We have a sitter for the day & overnight so we can have some time to ourselves for a change.

Apparently, though the lil man doesn't celebrate his Birthday he has accepted these gifts most gracefully. Rumours were floating around that he may be wearing wellies at The Hop Farm but these exclusive pics should dispell such mutterings... Just don't put any flashing lights in em P. wink

Oh, and Happy Birthday old boy. Don't forget the foot spray. confused

Having seen Jamiroquai twice in March (brilliant) and Mamas Gun last March ( equally brilliant)and am due to see Mamas Gun next week I think that suggesting that they are a cheaper version of Jamiroquai is wrong. All bands, including Prince, are influenced by their peers.

I'd actually thought what a good support act they would be for Prince. If this turns out to be true then myself and my 16 year old son will be very happy as it makes a weak line more bearable for us at least.

More of this type of act is OK with me. Less of this Parade crap.

www.thisisrox.com was at Bestival last year and was perfect festival music! It really is a little lacklustre isn't it? I mean how does the promoter think that having Prince on is going to sell out a festival? There need to be other acts to get the 'maybe' people along. I mean a less packed festival is nice, but I want the atmosphere to be great. All us little Prince.orgers there will make up for it I guess?!

I wonder how many tickets have been sold for the Sunday including the folks that have weekend tickets?

They are a bit like a bargain basement Jamiroquai.

Still think Prince should have gone for Glastonbury...somehow this lot must be paying him more money.

Ploblem with Glastonbury is they sell the tickets before the acts are announced.

At least having the 3rd day at Hop Farm Prince fans get a chance to see him.

Let me try lol

He can't fathom why some gent from Scotland is unable to put forward a proposal, in order for Prince to consider performing at the famous T in the Park festival (or other similar event). He goes on to say that these promoters would be wise to invest some considerable money in order to secure the services of Prince and subsequently a timely return to Scotland. The poster believes that for concert promoters, Prince is without question the most impressive star in the fucking world to get on yer show.

I think that's about the size of it. lol

The reason Prince isn't at the main festivals is cost.

Festivals, such as Glastonbury do not pay headliners as much as you would think. About half a million is the average. The band / act are usually happy as its great promotion on TV and puts them in front of up to 75,000 new fans.

Its no coincidence that most headliners have a new album out at the same time.

But Prince has essentially given up on new releases. He has no new audience to chase. Instead, he is looking to any venue that will pay him a million a show, where he can trade on reputation alone.

It works. Its short termist, but it works.

My bet is he turned Glasto down on fee, and went for Hop because its essentially a seperate gig where he gets the lions share.

And the audiences are going to be much lower. He is still trying to punch above his weight. The Ireland gig will be half empty, and I don't think the UK gig will fill either.

The shame is how much money he is losing out on. If he planned properly, he could make a killing.

Yep, I agree. He's very good at leaving everyone else holding the baby.

He could still make a lot more if he gave advanced notice and gave some promotion.
