Dear fellow orgers,

Fortunately, I need to be in Paris June 30th. Though I cannot see the concert, I would love to go to an aftershow, if there is any. Please give me a sign! tgjvaneijk@hotmail.com

Hi,

There were some posts here regurding the sound quality at the SDF.

Here is a quote from Schkopi.com you might find interesting:

Translate:

Hello to all, as a result of a conversation with Michael Delosio, from BACKSTAGE (

one of the suppliers sono SdF),

it would appear that the sound at the concert will not rotten at all, as i feared in my previous posts.

In effect, there will be a provision in 6 clusters, spaces of 20m each, each with its own line of delay ...

in short, the dissemination at the top of the top according to his account, of what is possible to make the SdF: no reverb through this.

original post:

[Edited 6/2/11 6:51am]

I seem to remember a similar set-up for Madge...sound was shite.

Not so interesting because:

very big venue

open air

reports about shitty sound

expensive, given the above mentioned points.

?

The stadium is just too big, Prince gigs are much better in an indoor venue, I wish he'd play the Bercy, saw the 2 first night of the Lovesexy tour there, awesome gigs.

Bercy isn't free on the 30...Roger Waters in there ( and me too, by the way!)

Have just been checking the French forum.....a slow but steady number of people worried about how many tickets he could sell...particularly with no real promotion/album/TV etc etc.

I did it biggrin Got my ticket and hope that there will be something else in Paris - Aftershow, Preshow, Club-gig - who knows???

I did it too biggrin and will be 2 nites in Paris - where Prince played a club-concert on almost every tour which took him to France. The 29. of june would be perfect !!! But of course I'wouldn't mind an aftershow as well wink Just friday evening I will be gone.....

I also expect the main-show, as it it will be the opening-gig of his European summertour, 2 be something special, like the first one in Inglewood ! Despite the fact that this event takes place in a big stadium, which was definitely not the reason 4 me 2 book.

Have not been to Paris for 30 years, so NOW is the time 2 come back !!

It seems to be for the best "gold circle" ticekts with easier access, champagne, nibbles etc etc...waste of money imo.

just in case if they do not reach breakeven in selling tix, which other smaller venues they could move to?

in Austria last year they moved from a stadium in Linz ( 30.000 ) to Vienna ( ca 15000 )

They apparently have no solution to move the gig somewhere else. Too complicated.

Le Zenith?
I'd prefer Parc des Princes anyway, it is more intimate stadium. Though I don't mind Stade de France either. I witnessed Madonna for 2 nights there 2008 and have absolutely no complaints. Big stars deserve big venues but the timing for this concert isn't there.
