As i'm not in favour of large stadium gigs my self, I did went on you tube etc to check your statment and looked for other reviews of the venue.

I must say what i found was not so different from any other stadium show i've been to.

Sure it's not THE place to see a live concert, but it really all depends on the sound man and gear.

I've been to small venues that sounded like shit a few times before smile

Why are you so negative about the SDF? How many shows have you benn to over there?

Seems odd that the place is so bad,Yet all major bands preform there.

My concern is more for weather this show will take place at all?

There are no prices given, and we are 4 days before ticket sales start,

The place is much too big for prince these days (unless free tickets gonna fly around from RTL)

I'll be REALLY surprised if they gonna fill the place in a month of ticket sales.

Yet i guess it would be nice to see prince playing for 80000 people,if the do make it after all.

Any word from locals on prices? seating arrangments?

Thanks

G

I've been to four gigs at the SDF and each time I've sworn never to go back....although the Muse show last year was the best of a bad lot.

For the above show I was on the field but I had friends would had category 2 seats at the back otf the stadium where the sound was bouncing all over the place.

I also recall a particulary bad Madonna show where the stage was too low and even I , at 6ft 2, had trouble seeing her mime.

I'm really afraid that Prince just won't cut it at the SDF...he's not going to spend money on something spectacular ( like Muse or U2) and I don't think there will be 80 000 people interestd in paying between 50€ and 100 ( if not more) to see him play Let's Go Crazy ( again).

That sort of interest is going to the Black Eyed Peas and Lady Ga Ga these days.

I may be proven wrong but I'm not sure I want to take the chance.....dommage

Why do so many bands perform there?? Because promoters book them in, in the hope of making a max of money.

Because the stadium is so big and time is limited I do not expect tickets to be close to €100.
Maybe even less than €50 as expensive tickets would mean commercial suicide.
At €25 the stadium would sell fairly OK I guess. This price is still more expensive than the LA gigs.

Do you wanna bet on this??

I can't see tickets being less that 40/50 euro for the worst seats.

There has been some talk of 5000 seats at 35e but, hey like Wow!

Sure?

Ok that would then mean the seated cat 1 tickets will be around 100€/120€...we won't even begin to speculate on VIP/Corporate prices.

Hope these are correct as i do not see these options at the few sites which claim they have tickets for sale. Where's the info from?

Well they are,but iguess they are gonna be at the back or nose-bleed ? I don't believe he's going to sell more than 30K-35K tickets. I was in germany a year ago and he didn't even sold out the berlin show with about 15K... Time will tell.

If he tries to sell the stadium at the prices mentioned by others I guess it won't sell out that easily, but perhaps I am underestimating the French, overestimating the cri$i$, etc.

Also, we could see a change of venue if sales are poor...

Is anyone else from UK going to Paris. If so, any tips on best way to get there from UK - cheap is what I'm looking for !!!

I live near london so will travel by national express, only £40 return. staying at blue planet hostel for £25 for 1 night. easyjet is approx £100, eurostar approx £120. So £65 for travel and 1 night stay isn't bad. Travel all day there and back which is a pain but money's tight.

I have not decided yet, but I think Paris is always worth a trip and Prince would be the icing smile But I still would prefer a smaller venue.

Hi austrians

Also thinking about going to paris with my wife, but a little fear remains, that this stadium is much too big nowadays for our little friend (altough the french love him and paris is really big!)

Gerhard, lets stay in contact!

it seems golden ring is only in the lower seats near the stage sides?

Plus looks like there is going to be a supporting act eek

18h00 : Ouverture des portes

19h30 : 1ère partie

21h00 : concert de Prince
