lets be honest...a terrible choice of venue...60,000 tickets sold and it looks half empty ??...and what sort of view have people who have paid good money going to have at the other end of that huge stadium...?....i hate stadium gigs anyway...hop farm will be better but i much prefer indoor gigs....he blew the roof off hammersmith apollo in 2002 in front of 2 and a half thousand lucky souls...thats where he belongs.....not in these giant goldfish bowls..

If you're gonna play for 40,000 people, you might as well
just play only your hits. But all of them. Play songs the
people are waiting for: when doves cry, sign o the times,
little red corvette, alphabet street etc etc.

The only aim at this gig should be creating atmosphere
when the place looks half empty and without any kind of
atmosphere at all.

Best way to do that to throw a party and play all those
feel good hits and then throw in 8 obscure songs for the
die hards, instead of play so so catalogue songs and 8
covers. Lol.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Wondering y they didnt move the stage up 25 feet or so and put curtains up. Wouldve made a more intimate venue.

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

I had the same thought. nod

And he didn't even do Let's Work/U Go The Look as reported previously by Princevault, he did do LRC after 1999. But still... neutral

Yes it is. In Finland there are approximately 11k sold tickets, but still 1500 to go. Main reason for not being sold out in the minutes, is the 5 cancellations before and the July, when Finland is basically closed. Everybody is on the holidays during that period and haven't made their plans yet. Still selling much better than Britney Spears, though biggrin

what a boring setlist... sad

I think he also played a bit of Johnny during the bass solo. And before Take Me With U, there was another song that contained the lyric "analog pimps and digital ho's" (title : Only Heaven Knows ???).

After 1999, he played Little Red Corvette.

And the sampler set also contained bits and pieces of Alphabet St. & The Most Beautiful Girl In The World.

2 me, this was a very good concert and I think he set out to show off especially on guitar. It was more of a jamming session for the 1st 90 minutes. I prefered Arras, but this was also very good. This is what I like, no concert is ever the same. Of course with all the songs he has, he will never please everyone with a set list. I soooo wanted to c Laydown. He really showcased the new band also, and nice 2 c him pop up during the Dap kings set. Hope u spooteed him leaving the stage on his bike o+>

However, the preformance rather than the set list is what I love and SHHHH was awesome....Still the best show in town and can't wait 4 Malahide....
