Thanks for the pics. I wondered early in the announcement of these shows if they had a billboard in Times Square promoting this concert. With millions of people in the Square today on New Year's Eve, it's great that promotional billboard is there for them to see.

I've never seen him do that song live before and when he sang "I ain't go no money" I nearly cried cause I've always wanted to see him perform this song and I finally got my prayers answered! Then he did How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore and Sometimes it Snows in April and I was on cloud 9! The whole show kicked ass. My friend Dean said that he was the baddest and that it was the best show he's ever seen and that alone was worth it! It was great to see friends and meet people from here. I hope to see and meet more people on Jan 18th. I'm leaving 2010 on a purple high and I'm going into 2011 with that same high. I just love me some Prince!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awww, nice report purplecam. Was Prince on "Fiyah" or what on Wednesday? That show was off the hook. He basically had all of MSG standing throughout his entire performance that night. I saw people there of all ages, and it was cool to see that people brought their kids to experience the music and performance of Prince. It was total high energy in there Wednesday night, and I loved that the audience would not let him leave and demanded the 3 encores he gave us. Looking forward to 1/18 as well...!!

He was great and seemed more rested than he did on the 18th...back to back shows like that obviously aren't a good idea for him IMO. Take it easy Mr. Nelson, you aren't 21 anymore.

From the '? of U'/'Gingerbread Man' to 'Sometimes It Snows In April', I was beyond thrilled...great setlist right there with the exception of PR (boring). OMG! When he dedicated 'Uptown' to Teena Marie . He opened his shirt and wore the heels . His red pants seemed a little tighter than usual so his butt looked even better and he had no problem showing it off to us. That man's ass is like an onion...brings tears to my eyes . I totally thought he was going to hump the gold guitar when he put it on the stage, but he didn't. He should have because it would have gotten more money for the auction...the chillens are important Prince so hump the guitar next time.

Still can't understand his not changing up his first few songs because for a while there I totally though that I was going to have to sit through the 18th show again but then he started doing '?of U'/'Gingerbread Man' and the lineup changed at the end so I was excited. Tired of '1999'; extremely tired of 'PR'; and I've already stated my opinion on 'Raspberry Beret'...just let me get that copy of sheet music and it's soo being set on fire .

I got some great second hand smoke from someone in my section so I didn't have to buy that $9.50 beer because I was super high for free. Thanks Potheads.

He did 'She's Always In My Hair'! The moment that riff started, I went off! Love this song and soo nice to hear him play it. Janelle dueted with him on 'If I Was Ur Girlfriend' and she didn't know the lyrics because she just scatted through her verse...the scatting was nice but learn those lyrics, Janelle.

The fan he pulled on stage was cute...so glad he didn't throw her purse into the audience like he did with a fan during our Musicology show. Still makes me laugh watching all it's contents go sailing into the first 3 rows...leave your purse in the chair and just grab your wallet next time lady.

The Piano Medley was fantastic!!! OMG! When he went into 'Do Me, Baby', I almost slapped the two people sitting next to me. They were trying to crush my little ass at the beginning of the show....those seats in the 400s are mad close together; I was getting all claustrophobic for a while there. The girl on my right side was all ozzing into my personal bubble and the guy on my left had his back to me so his butt was rubbing on my leg a little too much for my comfort. Once I started singing all the song that neither of them knew, they both gave me lots of space and when a song came on that they didn't know I noticed they would glance over at me because I know them all. One idiot in our section kept yelling how he couldn't believe Prince was real and he stopped because everybody stared at him like they were going to jump his ass...didn't hear his mouth until the end of the show (probably was him smoking all that pot). Then, 'I Wanna Be Your Lover' and 'Sometime It Snows In April' . Someone above posted a link to the piano medley from 'One Nite Alone' and this medley really didn't sound like that one...trust me, I have that one on repeat and they aren't alike; similar songs but not the same delivery at all. Both medleys are great in their own different ways IMO.

Loved that he brought 'REAL FANS' on the stage to dance in the end this time around and LOVED Cyndi blowing the roof off the Garden. I didn't know who she was so when she started singing I was like Damn, who is she?!?! Than I looked at her face on the monitor and realized it was her...uhh, Prince, I want to see Ms. Cyndi Lauper be your opening act on 1/18...thanks! I loved that she just blended in with all the regular fans...shows that unlike the celebrities on the 18th, Cyndi knows that she has to put her pants on one leg at a time like everybody else. What a great lady she is!

'Jungle Love' was fun but really wished he had just done a song from one of his newer albums instead...uhh, Prince, still waiting for 'Dance 4 Me', 'Box O Chocolates', or 'Sticky Like Glue' at least.

Love 'Uptown' and was happy he did it again because I love watching the fake 'fans' not know what the song is as I yell out all the lyrics to educate their asses. I was in Section 407 this time around and nobody in my section or Section 406 were singing along to the song so I made sure they knew if for next time. But, all those mofos sure know 'Raspberry Beret' and '1999' word for word.

Seriously, once people buy the tickets, why does it matter if they get to hear the hits? Nobody knows Prince's setlists until the day of the show/during the show most of the time and by that point what are they going to do if he plays songs they've never heard? Tough shit for them if they don't want to follow his career past 'Purple Rain'. He needs to make them see his new material because you can't ask for a refund if he shows up. He could sing the Manhattan Yellow Pages and nobody can say shit about it because he showed up and performed now didn't he? I know a large amount of Britney Spears' catalog but I'm definitely not a fan of hers so I'm seriously sick of him trying to please these fair-weather fans and sick of real fans sticking up for these people. Anyone with a radio back in 1984 knows most of the Prince POP hits from that era just like they all know Madonna's 'Like A Virgin' and MJ's 'Billie Jean'...doesn't make them fans just makes them trend followers. Sorry, but he needs to do his newer material and less popular songs for at least one show for me to brag about this 'tour' to anyone.

At the end of the night, we the 'Org 6' (my name for our little group last night...love u guys! ) went to Banks' house and had a blast. Honestly, I think I had just as much fun at our personal after party than I do at the show. At least, I got to hear songs that I like that Prince doesn't seem to want to play. Heard he did an aftershow at Butter, but saw the setlist and don't think I missed anything special, but that's JMHO.

All in all, a very good show and a great night that ended at 8 this morning. Thank God I was off today.

As with previous dates on the Welcome 2 America tour, the setlist was primarily focused on material from the artist's run of classic albums in the 1980s, including the huge hits "Let's Go Crazy," "1999," "Little Red Corvette," "Raspberry Beret," "U Got the Look," "Purple Rain" and "Kiss."

Heard he did an aftershow at Butter, but saw the setlist and don't think I missed anything special, but that's JMHO.

All in all, a very good show and a great night that ended at 8 this morning. Thank God I was off today.

Oh my lawd...what I would have given to be at these shows..This 52 year old man can seriously Get it....no lie! I cant believe ppl fell for the impersonater...looked more like Morris Day to me.

I had the best time of my life at Prince's concert!!! I'm still on a Prince high even after 3 days! I still can't believe that I was there! :dies: I had really good seats (section 228 row D.) I was pretty much in the middle section almost dead center. It couldn't get any better than that! There was 3 empty seats next to me, so I was able to really do my thing w/ out being cramped in next to somebody. Another Prince fan 3 seats down from me came over to me a few times to talk about Prince. She was just as happy as I was.

I wanted to surprise my mom by giving her a ticket to see Prince's show as a Christmas gift. I managed to keep it a secret from her, but only for a few weeks. I just couldn't take it anymore and ended up telling her because I was so excited to go! She's more of a casual Prince fan, but she always wanted to see him live at least once. She ended up having a great time as well.

I never danced so hard in my life!!! There were too many highlights to mention, but I think my favorite moment was when Prince sang Purple Rain. I pretty much lost it when the music for Purple Rain started. This was my first Prince concert and tbh, just being in Prince's presence was enough for me. I will remember this show for the rest of my life. (I'm a huge concert junkie in general. I saw Tina Turner live in concert 2 years ago and didn't think it could get any better than her until I saw Prince live! Nobody tops Prince in concert period!) MSG was crazy that night...the energy was through the roof! I'm so happy that we got not one, but two encores from Prince. After the show ended, I made sure to get the $30 tour program. I would have brought more Prince merchandise, but I was THAT broke!

Last night I gave in and brought another ticket to see Prince on Jan. 18th. I'm beyond excited now! This time I'll be in the 400's section. I'm so happy that I'm going to get to see him again that I really didn't care where my seat was! I invited my cousin to come along w/ me to see Prince, but she can't make it, so I'll be going by myself this time. (I actually got too excited and ended up ordering an extra ticket in the 300's section, but it's in the handicapped section, of all places! I have to see if I can give my second ticket away to someone or I'll be out of $! Idk how the hell I let that happen, but whatever!) 17 more days remaining! I'm dying to see what Prince has up his sleeve this time since this is going to be the last show.

I'm going to try to keep it semi-short and sweet since many have already expressed views that I agree with about the show.

My personal highlight of this show was bringing my son to see my favorite musician. When he asked me for the tickets I was slightly surprised and completely tickled purple. When we got there and his awe of the stage, the music, and Prince's performance was the best Christmas gift (heck any reason gift) I could've have gotten. Despite his all the joy, Christopher was disappointed that nothing from Lotusflow3r or MPLSound were not played (4Ever, The Morning After, Dance 4 Me are some of his favorites). Just shows you don't have to be an old diehard to want to hear the current music.

My second personal highlight outside of Prince, was the meetup. It's always great to meet fellow Prince fans who are nice, positive and cool to be around. I wish I could've hung out for the afterparty with the "Org 6," but maybe next time.

Now for the show...

Normally I do not like to compare, rather enjoy each experience on it's own merits, but since it is the same "tour" I have to say I enjoyed the performance and show on the 17th @ Izod more than this one. While the sound @ Izod was a tad muddy for some, the energy from Prince, the band, the girls and the audience was so much higher that I did not care.

I enjoy Mint Condition but their cover filled performance left me very disappointed. As for Janelle Monae, she didn't impress me on the BET Awards performance and she didn't impress me @ MSG either. She's more than a bit gimicy and unfortunately unlike Lady Gaga her gimic (same costume, jerky/epilectic movements, screaming/singing style) isn't catching on. In comparison, Cassandra Wilson and Maceo Parker kept their sets short, sweet and true to their style, and while some may have found them borrowing it's a shame they could not open up to the positivity of true musicians from different genres.

It was also a longer show at Izod than at MSG due to the venue curfew. I find it funny that the MSG shows sold out and so much bashing went on about NJ here on the org (location, NJ in general), that Izod attendees got a longer show and paid less than MSG attendees. I'd say Izod show was more bang for your buck.

On a positive note I was thoroughly pleased to hear the piano encore and his new song/old music "The Gingerbread Man." But most importantly to see him period. While there are some flaws (almost only hits, shorter set) and some high points what it all boils down to for me is I am glad to see and hear him perform (no lipsyncing for our man) no matter what he is performing or where. I'm going to enjoy each moment/perfomrmance to the fullest because there is no promise that there will be another one...for him or for me.

Thanks for the pics. I wondered early in the announcement of these shows if they had a billboard in Times Square promoting this concert. With millions of people in the Square today on New Year's Eve, it's great that promotional billboard is there for them to see.

Thank you! I saw this billboard in Times Square on Dec 14th...then when I went back on Dec 16th with my camera, it was gone and I was disappointed not to have a picture of it! Now, I do!
