Shelby confirmed on FB that the show is happening... the cancellation is rumours.

For the moment I'm worried about the air traffic controllers' strike... I will worry about Prince afterwards. I'll be in Geneva whatever happens: air fair paid in full and hotel also, so...

Le concert de Prince prévu au Stade de Genève le 12 juillet puis reporté au 23 juillet n'aura pas lieu vendredi. Selon les informations de la TSR, le directeur technique a contacté ses partenaires pour les informer que la manifestation ne pourra pas se tenir. On ignore si une nouvelle date est prévue.

André Vouilloz, de la société de coordination d'événements Adrenaline, avait prévenu que le dernier délai pour monter la scène était fixé à mardi matin. Mais Daniel S.Quarcoopome n'ayant donné aucune nouvelle, le directeur technique va rapatrier tout son matériel stocké au stade depuis 2 semaines.

De son côté, Olivier Carnazzola, le directeur du Stade de Genève, est également sans nouvelles de l'organisateur français depuis 2 jours. Il n'a donc toujours pas les garanties, notamment financières, nécessaires pour le concert. Contacté par la TSR, Daniel S.Quarcoopome s'est refusé à tout commentaire. Si on ajoute que Resaplus, responsable de la billetterie, continue de proposer des sésames dans ses points de vente, c'est le flou le plus total qui règne.

La Tribune de Genève et 20 minutes parlent de leur côté d'un nouveau report à une date inconnue. Le site du journal gratuit croit savoir que le concert du Kid de Minneapolis pourrait toutefois avoir lieu d'ici la fin de l'été, peut-être à l'Arena.

Interrogé par la TSR, Jean-Pierre Simonin, le directeur de l'Arena, dément toutefois l'information de 20 minutes. Aucun contact n'a été pris pour réserver une date pour Prince. Et si c'était le cas, le directeur demanderait des garanties financières énormes avant de réserver la date.

André Vouilloz doute également d'un report d'ici la fin de l'été car l'agenda de Prince est chargé. Il est en concert le 25 juillet à Nice puis il rentre aux Etats-Unis. Pour le faire revenir, il faudra organiser plusieurs dates de concert, car une seule date en Europe coûterait trop chère.

Les organisateurs avaient expliqué ce premier report par le fait que de nombreux fans alémaniques ou de France voisine n'auraient pas eu de transports publics pour rentrer chez eux en ce lundi soir 12 juillet. Des rumeurs parlaient elles de prélocations insuffisantes.

Selon les dernières estimations officieuses, entre remboursements et nouveaux acquéreurs, moins de 8000 personnes avaient acquis un ticket pour le show. Pour ce concert, le Stade de Genève peut accueillir entre 12'000 et 17'000 personnes, au maximum 20'000.

D'autres concerts viennent d'être annulés en Suisse romande: Yannick Noah annoncé le 18 septembre au Stade de Genève a renoncé à sa prestation pour des raisons techniques, mais il jouera le 28 mai 2011 à l'Arena. Eros Ramazotti prévu le 31 juillet sur la place du Marché à Vevey (VD) ne viendra pas en raison de prélocations insuffisantes.

No site seems to be selling tickets for it.....

www.resaplus.ch still show tickets being available at their outlets - at mentioned earlier sites arent selling tix as its too short notice to post them now with the gig scheduled fro Friday.

Also have no reason to doubt the MoQuake team, their info and exclusives have always been totally accurate thus far and seem to come directly from the P camp..

I think nobody doubt Gav or P´s camp, but what if the promotor cancelled the gig

without the knowledge of Prince? As said before, they didn´t even start to arrange

the stage yet. The stadium seems to be empty and there are only 3 days to go...

They just give a list of shops where tickets are generally available.

Shit i guess thats it then - unless they are moving it to another venue as it seems like the NPG r defo in Geneva.

I hate all this confussion, plus my tickets STILL havent even arrived (not that it looks like i will be needing them) gutted.

Nope ive had nothing from RESAPLUS - no email notification etc. Im going to phone them shortly as my tickets havent even arrived (i ordered them last week from the UK so they may arrive today / tomorrow in fariness).

Great - Resaplus phone number donest seem to be working (from the UK im dialing +41 900 552 333, found this number on the website, can anyone confirm if this is correct?).

I also emailed them yesterday and have had nothing back. Starting to get pissed off now, so unprofessional.

Yes, the number is correct...yesterday I sent them an email asking for some information but didn't get any answer from their side...

Just spoke to them..

They said although they have no information at present they have no reason the believe the concernt will not go ahead. However i was put thorugh to someone else who said they think it maybe postponed but cant confirm yet.

So we know little more after speaking to them than we did before!

(Ps if anyone hasnt recieved tickets yet and are worried dont panic, if they gig does go ahead the tickets can reproduced at teh gig by the box office as long as u have ur order ID)

If you go to the Stade de Genève's home page, as of 10:54 am 07/21 (Geneva time) it says: "according to today's news (meaning the media), the concert scheduled on July 23rd will not take place!"

Wait and see... It looks like even they don't know what's going on...

I haven't tried the phone number, but I believe you cannot get through from outside the country.

And I haven't received anything from resaplus.ch either... their webpage hasn't been altered.
