Word to anyone contemplating flying into MPLS for this: The Minneapolis-St.Paul airport is MAJORLY fucked up right now. They are doing construction on a crucial runway, leaving only one runway open. Flights going in and out are majorly delayed/canceled. I know this first hand because I was trapped in MPLS airport hell TWICE (going to/from Newark) a couple of weeks ago.

It's ridiculous. It's been like this for months. It bugs be because it's changed flight patterns and planes are flying over my neighborhood every few minutes. confused I don't understand how, when it's been this way forEVer, they wouldn't have it figured out well enough NOT to cause delays.

You have NO idea how terrible our trip was. On the way there: 1st flight left Newark gate on time, sat on runway for 1 hr. 22 minutes because of "rain in Minneapolis". (It was drizzling when we arrived.) Second leg of flight canceled. Northwest tried to rebook us to leave MPLS at 10:15pm (we were supposed to arrive at final destination at 3:40pm.) Rerouted to Omaha. Plane arrived 1 hour late. No luggage (which we had to pay extra to check), we had to wait for next flight to arrive and hope our luggage was onboard.

On the way back: First flight to MPLS delayed 1 hour 50 minutes, causing us to miss our connecting flight to Newark. We were rebooked on SEPERATE flights to Chicago O'Hare, where we were then supposed to reconnect on a flight to Newark. My flight left MPLS on time. My travel buddy's flight to ORD was delayed so much that he would miss his connection in Chicago. Luckily he was able to snag the last seat on the last direct flight to Newark. That flight was delayed 1+ hours. We were supposed to get into Newark at 5:15pm. I finally got in at 10:45pm, his flight arrived at 12:15am. I got home at 2am and had to work the next day. mad

And the entire time (both ways) not one single fucking person apologized to us for the inconvience. They tried to blame the weather ("snow in Minneapolis"). I said, There better be a motherfucking blizzard b/c if the MPLS airport can't deal with a little snow they're in trouble. A gate attendant confirmed to us that it is because the Air Transportation Authority in MPLS waited until the day before construction to tell the carriers. Weather was not the reason for our delays.

I am writing a huge, long letter to the ATA and Northwest to complain. It was by far the worst flight experience I've ever had.

My mom called me last night - she was stuck in Pittsburgh b/c - surprise surprise - her flight to Minneapolis had been delayed. rolleyes

.

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

How confident are you that you'll get tickets? I kinda wanna wait and see what the details will be for how they'll be distributing the tickets. I keep thinking how much it would suck to drive 6 hours, not get tickets, and then have to pay for the hotel. But part of me wants to risk it...

While it would be a 9 hour road trip, i'm thinking i'm going to try the flight route (assuming I can get tickets).... has anyone heard about when tickets are going on sale?

Question for ya'll: would you go to the concert alone? I can't find anyone who's willing to head up to MPLS with me... sad

Wow. Folks are flying in for this and I'm debating on spending the $80 when Paisley park is 15 minutes away. You guys are almost talking me into this. I'm loving the band and set-lists as of late.

I'll wonder if there's no more on-street or on-grounds parking around PP, the reason for the shuttle.

This will be in the soundstage area, probably?

I wonder how many folks will come for this. I live about 25 min away but I don't want to drive out there and stand in line for 2 hours or whatever, and then not get in. confused

Well besides that, I have the added concern of wheelchair accessibility to think about. I would hate to spend the $ and go, only to be forced to park my chair where the view is obstructed...or worse, not be able to enter at all! pissed

But, I'll take the risks! excited

Hi Bella! waveI was thinking the same thing. Would be a shame if those fans who are going and when they get there, Prince may or may not perform. Maybe funkenberry will update more info tonight or tomorrow on this and being that it's a charity event as well, you just never know. Guess everyone will just have to wait for any updated or extra info.
