And when I get to Monte Carlo, I'm renting an old school Monte Carlo.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

When Babs Streisand played in Paris the French snubbed her ticket prices of 500 euro and the show was far from sold out.

And let's be honest, what artist is worth this type of price?

We're all fans here, but if it's to hear Purple rain for the millionth time or snippets of classics mixed in which a couple of more obscurre tracks...well then thoses sort of ticket prices are a rip off.

Speaking of rip off, I hear many of you complaining abour NPG and lotusflower..has anyone contacted a consumer organisation or made a formal complaint??[/quote]

what is a rip off?
don't forget he performs in Monaco...
500euros is not an expensive price....

Plz LMK when Prince will be in the western U.S. states. I plan to go to as many concerts as I can. I have songs, DVD's, CD's. Purple Rain vintage t-shirt and THE tatt. Jus need the concert opportunity. I viewed the Vegas concerts, but the $300 tix caused a screeching halt. I enjoy this site so much!

200 for monaco is ok. But for a 90 minute show it's too much, especially if the next show (which will probably also be 90 minutes) contains some of the same songs as the first.

"who said it will be 90 minutes?" blahblah well nobody, I'm just guessing it will be the same as montreux, which was excellent but way too short!

I'm assuming the seating will be first come first serve? Any news on that? If so, what were the queues like in Montreux. Just want to know what sort of time you should roll up to the venue to get a good seat. Thanks. cool

The tickets say "placement libre" which means "free seating", so indeed first come first served.

Also do not forget "tenue correcte exigée" which means that you should wear proper evening dress.

Because there were only 150 sold to the public, I guess the rows outside won't be that large, I don't expect the VIPs to whom the other 350 tickets went to be waiting outside...

Hi,
It's a small venue with seats. It's actually an old theater which has been completely renovated. I don't think you need to be there very early. Considering the price of the tickets and the location (Monaco) expect only "the happy fews" to be there. Definetly not a "popular" audience. Even more selected than in Montreux.

To be precise, 190 tickets were sold on the internet via the FNAC site. The rest was not reserved for VIP's: you could purchase them directly from the local FNAC shops in Monaco, Cannes or Nice. The VIP's will probably attend the August 16th show.

There seem to be tickets on Lotusflower now but just for the 16th rather than all 3 as stated in previous threads. Doesn't seem to be an option to buy for 13th. (why are these threads locked by the way?)

there's one thread on the main page that announces the LF.com online sale.

a bunch of other people tried to post the news at the same time.

obviously, we don't need multiple threads on the same thing.

and that is why those threads are locked. please feel free to post on the one thread on the subject that isn't locked.

I'm so excited about going to M.C.... But can't help wondering about the kind of show P is going to give. The Opera Garnier probably has a very specific sound environment, and I just can't imagine a wild & funky act (asthe second show in Montreux).Or maybe yes??never know what to expect from P. That's why he is still on TOP evilking
But then, how can you stay with your booty nailed on those seats (which look SOOO unconfortable by the way)??!! booty!
THAT would be frustrating.
Also wondering about the band... But most of all, the sound? Acoustic maybe?
