What sexybeautifulone said was, "I said what I feel and that's all there is to it!". That is the equivalent of an angry child crossing their arms in a grump and feeling totally justified in their childlike behaviour. Like I said, a child can give this kind of response. But that doesn't really stack up as an adult. As an adult, one is able and expected to engage in conversation and debate when differing perspectives are offered. An adult who self-righteously crosses their arms instead of conversing is acting like a child. I don't believe me pointing this out to sexybeautifulone is 'childish, rude and uncalled for', sosgemini. Do you think it would have been more adult, polite and meaningful of me to instead say to you, "I said what I feel and that's all there is to it!" instead of engaging in debate?

Actually, Anji...that is NOT what a child would have said!! I showed this to a few children...meaning minors under the age of 18...and they let loose on your ass something awful...but I'm feeling good, right now! So I'm not going to even bother! You chose not to respond to most of the questions I posed regarding your logic, sexybeautifulone. Instead saying, "I said what I feel and that's all there is to it!" That is childish whether other children use more foul mouthed responses or not.
As an adult, one is left to assume that either your logic doesn't stack up or that you just can't be bothered to argue your case. It's interesting how you can be bothered to state your case but as soon as anyone suggests that your reasoning may be flawed in certain respects, you don't put any energy into defending it except to say that it is what it is, I feel what I feel. Feelings don't hold up in debate as they aren't necessarily logical or grounded in fact, sexybeautifulone.

I don't know what the hell is wrong! I don't even know why the hell I still care but SOMETHING is NOT RIGHT about Prince For Hire! [Edited 12/18/07 3:06am] He's getting paid to play music...even better-he makes his living with his art...3121 and O2 and a private party...3 very different venues...it probably keeps life interesting for him...

It's extremely common for acts to do these kind of gigs - they wouldn't usually be publicised. So many people posting on this thread have a ridiculously Utopian outlook on the world of Prince. Let me give you an understanding from someone who's worked in the industry...there is very little money to be made from the selling of music. This makes doing these kind of gigs very handy indeed if you're lucky enough to be asked to do them. How does Prince doing this taint his art? I know a few tools who call themselves singers/musicians who turn a lot of gigs and work down, feeling that it would compromise their artistic integrity. And guess what..they're all broke and lazy. As some have pointed out, it's meant to be a means of making a living, and it's never been harder to do so from music.

I knew about this party, but will admit I haven't read over this entire post, which is currently running about 7 pages long. But having just skimmed over it, it appears there are several angry Orgers that seem a bit jealous they weren't invited to the party.
More power to Prince if he can pull that kind of loot. Personally, I won't pay more than $100 or so to see him perform anywhere (which is about what I paid to see him at Madison Square Garden). Though that was a couple of years ago, I might stretch it to two or three hundred, depending on the location and circumstances (but $300 would have to have me seated in the front row, and I better be able to see him sweat with the naked eye). I recall about 14 years ago, a group I was associated with paid Culture Club $16,000 to play a couple of songs on a private yacht party. AND it was during their peak. By comparison, Prince made out! Mong said: How does Prince doing this taint his art?
