well, if you flame someone or go way off topic or are baiting someone then your post could be removed...not saying that was the case with your situations but cha know...

I was being sarcastic and imitating others, so that could be called challenging.

Thank you, at least I have some reaction.

Wow....a musician getting paid to perform his music..What a shocking concept! Its not like he was hired to juggle monkey's nuts.....

LMAO you are definitely spot on.
It is none of our business how he earns and spends his money. Let's face it, you guys are just jealous that you could not attend the event, and I am sure it was bloody amazing. I have met very nice Prince fams but some of you are just reacting like spoilt brats. How lucky we are to know and enjoy his music for all these years.
He has been touring extensively through his career and giving us so much, for some of you it will never be enough.

I'm just curious how Prince reconciles the fact that JWs don't celebrate birthdays with him getting paid $$$ to play for someone celebrating theirs. hmm And it's not a one off type of deal--he's played several private bday gigs for the über rich and not really famous in the past year.

Interesting. I just read this whole thread and why do I get the feeling if he was hired to play in a friggin barn by a super rich long time fan (read--.orger or HQ member) all the people saying he's selling out would be ok with it? And to top it off would be asking about getting a boot of the show. lol

On another note I'm still confused by the concept that Prince should not want to get paid for playing a legitimate concert. confuse

I suspect it's kinda like a caterer who is personally a vegan or vegetarian but is asked to prepare dishes that contain meat for paying clients.

I think it was a good move for him to do the birthday party nothing has to be wrong with him just because he did that seem like he is growing the old ways of P never would have done a private party no matter the amount of money seem to me that he is reaching out to his fans/fam.

actually, he HAS done private parties in bars for super rich fans' birthday parties...he's done several over the past year or two. i think the "airplane hangar/k.c. and the sunshine band" factor is what put this incident over the top. nod

How wonderful that the diminutive douchebag is performing for people like George Hamilton.

Maybe next month he's got some bar mitzvahs lined up?

That is a good comparison I suppose...but the mouth and the heart are two different locations in the body. What goes in one's mouth is a little different from what is supposed to be in one's heart.

If somebody offered you 1 million to do your job, you know the one you hate w/ a passion, that you have absolutely no genuine interest in whatsoever, would you do it? Now imagine if you were fortunate enough to do what you love for a living and people offered you large sums of money to do it. Can't knock the hustle at all.

I wonder how much it would cost to get Prince for one of these private party shows ? if all us orgers got together and setup a kitty, we could raise the cash and have our own private party, forget about the O2 and debates about when/where he tours, this would be much cooler,

We could have a vote for tracks to play and give him the list, imagine his face !!!! lol I reckon your talking £200,000 for a nite, so if 2000 of us put in £100 each, we got Prince for the night to do a gig, hey, I paid £500 for 2 VIP (not) tickets at the O2, so this is cheap and great value compared.

How much would you pay and what song would you choose?

My nominated song choice would be Around the world in a day, and as we're paying, I vote for an unplugged session.

You chose not to respond to most of the questions I posed regarding your logic, sexybeautifulone. Instead saying, "I said what I feel and that's all there is to it!" That is childish whether other children use more foul mouthed responses or not.

As an adult, one is left to assume that either your logic doesn't stack up or that you just can't be bothered to argue your case. It's interesting how you can be bothered to state your case but as soon as anyone suggests that your reasoning may be flawed in certain respects, you don't put any energy into defending it except to say that it is what it is, I feel what I feel.

Feelings don't hold up in debate as they aren't necessarily logical or grounded in fact, sexybeautifulone.

I've never seen sosgemini "hate" as you put it, criticise, yes, hate, no

Believe it or not, it is possible to like an artists music and at the same time think they are a complete asshole by virtue of what they say and/or do

Some of the greatest musicians ever have been complete tossers as people

Or are you one of those who thinks "he who must not be names for fear of being sued" is above criticism?
