totally agree - I didn't get hit, but many around me did - and I was in the wheelchair seating area - nothing like lobbing missiles at the disabled, eh... Fucking degenerates... (the glowstick throwers, that is, not the disabled! )

When P went off for 10-15 mins during the throwing frenzy I REALLY didn't expect him to come back. Why do people always have to ruin such beautiful things?

I've been reading the updates here as I didn't manage to get hold of a ticker (sub £500!) for the last night. The work of O2 in updating the final show set lst has been amazing. But I cannot believe that I have seen this thread about throwing glowsticks. I assume there were again many drunken people, but was there any particular trigger for this madness? And what did Prince do when he got hit? This is shocking and sad. Respect to P for coming back out.

Off to bed.....can't wait to see if he attends the aftershow (which I would also love to be at )

At one stage there was a wave of glowsticks being thrown down from the upper tier mainly, it got so bad during a break I didn't think he would even come on back on.

Drunken Idiots

First off all this was bound to happen as O2 gave out glowsticks to everyone and you will always get idiots in a crowd, especially a british based one. Just look at the behaviour of Brits abroad for instance. At the end of the concert one dickhead and his mate thought it was quite funny to throw the Planet Earth album towards the stage like a frisbee. How intelligent was that!!!

Secondly most of the throwing of the glowsticks went on during the breaks when Prince was not on stage and mainly from the upper tiers. Mind you when he was on stage I did see a few head in his direction but not that many. Did not realise that one hit him though, that being the case he did well to come back out again.

Well done to all you dickheads responsible, you excelled yourselves and just showed once again why us Brits can be complete pricks at times.

My friend and I were so disappointed in the crowd of people doing this. Literally hundreds of people threw them. I got hit in the back of the head when it started and it stung. When it then became a gale of glowsticks I was convinced P would not come back out! We were two rows off the floor and a girl two rows behind us threw one as well (to join in!) and my friend told her off. She didn't seem to understand the problem.

What had been a truly magical night was almost ruined by this idiotic behaviour. I reckon noone was even kicked out for it, which is a shame.

Thank god he came back to do the synth set, When U Were Mine & Girls & Boys!

I'm still on a high from the night, though. Incredible show.

To be frank, we did not deserve any of the encores as a result of the glow sticks being thrown. I still just can't believe it - what on earth possessed those idiots to throw their glow sticks, either at other people, at the stage and equipment, or even worse, while Prince was performing.

I missed seeing the one that was thrown at Prince, but I did see one that was thrown in the direction of Shelby. She didn't see it, but Prince sure did. He turned to the area that it come from with a filthy look on his face. He should of walked off there and then. He looked angry. Those fools mad Prince angry on his last night.

As I was walking past Indigo, I over heard one of the security guys talking to the people lining up. He was saying that the Prince has specifically insisted that no glow sticks be taken into the club.

I feel ashamed that on his, and our, final night, this is how some people decide to thank him. As is only too common, the stupid actions of a few, and it was only a few, have potentially ruined it for the many.

We did not deserve the encores.

Yes, it was very dumb. Once it got started some more idiots thought it looked like fun and joined in - there was a lot flying about at one point and I was wincing wondering if people below were getting hurt. I was quite amused to see some retaliation from the under fire lower tier at one point where a few got lobbed straight back up. I didn't see Prince get hit - he certainly didn't respond to it or change his attitude in any way. Especially seeing he came back out after the Synth set for another encore, having spray painted his suit, which he didn't have to do.
Also there was absolutely nothing security could do under the circumstances - it was in the dark and there wouldn't be a way to see them being thrown unless it was right under their noses. But they weren't really doing anything all night come to think of it. I mean there was a guy two along from me in the front row of the Upper tier who filmed the whole thing from inside his coat... it was totally blatant as he was the only person who didn't move a muscle or look up all night long (waste of a ticket that one...) so much for ejection of people using recording equipment.

That's what he expects when he sells the cheap tickets.

When the glow stick in Prince he carried on as if nothing happened TRUE PROFESSIONAL!!!!! On my way out i complained to a manager & i said "Why take bottle top's off people yet u allow them 2 take glow sticks in & i explained one hit Prince & he said yes he heard that over his radio but the glow sticks being given out where on Prince's orders! But i'll be ringing the O2 2moro 4 compensation although i wasnt hit!!!!

I wouldn't go so far as to say it ruined the night for everyone. As i said it didn't seem to affect the atmosphere in the place that much... probably only if you got smacked by one of them. There will always be idiots wherever you go.

the one that hit him (hit the seat of his stool during the synth set then kinda spun up and hit his ack - luckily it wasn't head on) he was, if i remember correctly just about to start the most beautiful girl in the world - which was a first for this tour and you really felt like the synth set was just warming up - then he jumped straight in to raspberry beret - which we knew was the end of the synth. i reckon we were about to be treated to some tracks we hadn't heard yet.

We evacuated our seat amidst a torrent of glowsticks hailing down upon us. We were on the lower tier and just went and stood at the top under the balcony. Security tried to move us on and I just pointed out that we'd move back if they stopped the twats above us chucking their glowsticks. We were soon left alone. Actually, the glowsticks were only part of the reson for hanging up near the exit. We also had one eye on the aftershow queue.

We couldn't believe that they were doing it, I just hope that nobody got hurt. The boyfriend of a fellow orger actually got hit by one but fortunately was ok. Can't believe it happened really. Once again, twats!

No glow sticks were allowed in indigo after what happened in the main show
