Surely you should be able to make some constructive critisism about the shambles at O2, I was there, it did happen and there were many in the same boat. It doesn't make Prince less of a musician and who cares if the BBC are watching it just proves that there were lots of others who feel the same way.

I feel bad for anyone who got a duff seat. We all want to be in the best position to see him. However, the seating has nothing to do with him. I've heard some real bitter sentiments aimed at P since these gigs began and can only imagine they're from some(not all) people whose fan status was pretty flimsy in the first place.
A few months back I was contemplating making the trip to the States, now he's here in my own back yard and I couldn't be happier. I count my blessings and am grateful i've seen him live. | |

What really gets me was that he made a statement saing he wasn't going to play then he did - unpredictability we can expect from Prince but I do think it was a little toooo deceptive. I'm in a position of being lumbered with two extra tickets due to not being able 2 get a refund... I'm gonna try something really radical at Indigo2.... I understand the frustration of the originator of this thread. As for me, I had a wonderful weekend, Friday VIP and a great aftershow, Saturday a wonderful show, damn good seats. By the end of that show I knew there wouldn't be an aftershow - there was too much aftershow elements in the encores of the main show. But I guess I am lucky in reading the signs...

Spoke to a lady called Kelly from AEG in charge of ticketing for the O2.
Called her cause it looks unlikely that Ticketmaster will provide a swap / refund for the non - aftershow on the 11th. Apparently Kelly said we should not have expected a show but a "disco," what is this the Prince afterhow or the Bee Gees, aint been to a "disco" since Tucker Jenkins left Grange Hill. They'll be telling me its bring a bottle next! | |

Agreed - I saw his 1st August show and thought it was off the wall especially with the 3 encores - Also I don't know about the back but i think he played a good amount of attention to all sides of the stage. I'm so glad I got Row R seats though simply because when I moved forward for the last encore and got to the part of the 'vip' seats I couldn't see Prince! so moved back to a few rows back and was awesome! As for the aftershow - I've heard mixed reviews and will depend whether on the night if I go or not - like PRince - he is an awesome artist and one of the best of our times - 21nights, all with different experiences - if you had a bad experience, go again and restore your faith...at £35 you can't go wrong In a word or two it's u i wanna do, no not ya body ur mind u fool! | |

£35 you can't go wrong, er yeah, you could end up seeing some washed backward lookinh artist, playing crappy 70's covers with a Kenny G lite intermission, banging on about computers / loops etc like an old man at rave and then having the cheek to use said technology for the end of the Sat concert.
This was a guy who was cutting edge, always pushing the boundaries and looking forward, thats ended up as a Las Vegas cabaret artist of no relevance for future music. Embrace new music Prince, stop banging on about the past and bring out a decent album we've been waiting over 15 years. | |

Even with all the bad reviews etc i am still sooooo looking forward to it all. People who bad mouth after one bad experience were not fans to begin with, not true fans anyway. Hate Ticketmaster. It's naive to think that Prince has sat in every seat in the O2, and therefore personally endorsed the bad seats in that arena. The 'every seats a great seat' is marketing speak for 'we will run out of brilliant seats, so they are all good so don't feel bad'. If you had an obstructed view, that sucks, and Ticketmaster should give you a refund. If you bought your aftershow ticket before they put on that disclaimer, Ticketmaster should give you a refund. The promoter AEG, will promote the seats as all good to take more cash. Blaming Prince and putting your records on eBay is a bit mental. I'm with anyone wanting a refund for their personal bad experience relating to poor seating or no shows at the aftershow. Vent your frustrations at the right people - ticketmaster, AEG or O2.
